Manchester United are reportedly “seriously considering” a move for VfB Stuttgart midfielder Atakan Stiller during the summer transfer window. According to Fichajes, Stiller has emerged as an option to strengthen United head coach Ruben Amorim’s midfield this season. The 23-year-old is not viewed as a direct replacement for the Red Devils’ primary target, Carlos Baleba. Stiller is said to have a £32 million release clause in his Stuttgart contract. Meanwhile, Newcastle United have secured the signing of Nick Woltemade after their official bid for the Stuttgart forward was accepted. According to Fabrizio Romano, a fee of over €80 million plus add-ons has been agreed, with the player now set to undergo a medical in England within the next 24 hours. Woltemade has already said “yes” to the move to Newcastle after agreeing to a long-term deal with the Premier League club
Hugo Broos, the head coach of the South Africa national football team, has asserted that Nigeria still has a chance to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Despite Nigeria’s current position in Group C, Broos cautioned his players against underestimating both Nigeria and Lesotho in their upcoming qualifiers. At present, South Africa leads Group C with 13 points from six matches, holding a five-point advantage over Rwanda and Benin. Nigeria, however, is in fourth place with only seven points, having secured just one win in their last six matches. South Africa’s next fixtures are against Lesotho on September 5, followed by a match against Nigeria on September 9. Broos emphasized the importance of these games, stating, “We knew from the start that the team we had to beat is Nigeria. Even though they started badly, they can still qualify.” He also warned his players not to underestimate Lesotho, reminding them that Lesotho held Nigeria to a draw in Nigeria. Broos concluded, “We beat Lesotho before, so we must beat them again.”
Renowned Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has recently voiced his opinion on who Manchester United should target to fill the goalkeeper position currently held by Andre Onana. During a segment on The Premier League Show, Merson highlighted Gianluigi Donnarumma of Paris Saint-Germain as the ideal replacement for the Cameroonian stopper. Merson’s remarks come amid growing scrutiny over Onana’s performances, which some believe have hindered United’s ambitions in major competitions. Merson emphasized that Onana lacks the ability to “save points” consistently, implying that Manchester United’s chances of winning significant trophies could be compromised if the current first-choice goalkeeper remains. “For me, I would’ve said yes. You don’t win league titles, World Cups, or European Championships without top-class goalkeepers,” Merson stated, stressing the critical role of a reliable shot-stopper. He further added, “Onana does not save points. At Manchester United, goalkeepers losing points is a major concern. The team needs a new goalkeeper urgently. I see Gianluigi Donnarumma is available – why don’t they go for him?” Merson’s comments suggest that Manchester United’s pursuit of Donnarumma could be a strategic move to strengthen their squad and improve their competitiveness in both domestic and European competitions. Donnarumma, a World Cup-winning goalkeeper, is widely regarded for his remarkable reflexes and consistent performances at the highest level

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is strongly considering former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi as potential candidates for the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections. The governor made this disclosure on Thursday during an exclusive interview on Politics Today, a political programme aired on Channels Television. As the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Mohammed emphasized that the opposition party is willing to welcome influential and widely respected politicians who can significantly contribute to its presidential ambitions. When asked if the party had reached out to Peter Obi, the Bauchi governor responded: “Of course, he is one of the most celebrated politicians in Nigeria today. And you can already see him engaging within the coalition. Definitely, we are not asleep. We just don’t make unnecessary noise. There are many strong political figures we are engaging with. In fact, I recently had discussions with former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi. I have been working tirelessly to ensure that notable leaders join our fold.” Governor Mohammed further explained that some decisions, such as Obi’s possible return or alignment with the PDP, rest solely with the politician himself. He noted: “I have personally discussed with Peter Obi, and I made it clear that the PDP remains open to all celebrated political figures who are capable of strengthening our drive and vision for the presidency in 2027.” The statement by Bala Mohammed has sparked fresh conversations within Nigeria’s political space, with analysts pointing out that the potential candidacy of either Goodluck Jonathan or Peter Obi could reshape the dynamics of the 2027 presidential race.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked (Ephesians 6:16). There are times when troubling thoughts may run through the mind, creating feelings of distress and agitation. Some people think they’re just being emotional when this happens. But what they don’t realize is that the enemy often seeks to take advantage of their emotions by bombarding their minds with negative thoughts. These are fiery darts and missiles. When such negative emotions, resulting from negative thoughts are left unchecked, they could soon lead to anxiety and despondency. These are signs that the adversary is attempting to create turmoil through the mind. But Ephesians 6:16 says, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” At such moments when you find yourself wrestling with thoughts of gloom, use your shield of faith. Actively vocalize the Word of God. Remember, faith must be vocalized and put to work. You ought to declare, “I refuse to be anxious, fretful, nervous or apprehensive. I’m born of God and have overcome Satan, the world and its negative and debilitating effects.” If you don’t actively use your faith against the missiles the enemy throws at your mind, the attacks may extend from the mind to the body. It’s the reason you must be quick to use the Word to cut out and expel all negative thoughts and wicked imaginations. Declare that your spirit, soul, body and mind belong to the Lord and are thus sanctified by the Spirit. Your bold, faith-filled declarations put you over and above every assault of the adversary. The shield of faith quenches all the fiery darts of the wicked. Henceforth, if terrible thoughts come to your mind or something unusual appears in your body, maybe it’s a swelling, a hardening or any abnormality, kill it with your faith-filled words. Your words are not ordinary. The Bible talks about the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word or “Rhema” (Greek) of God (Ephesians 6:17). “Rhema” is the spoken Word, the Word of God that you speak forth. So, when you face challenges, refuse to fret or be moved; rather, declare your victory in Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ….” This is the victorious life in Christ; we use the Word against the enemy. We’re triumphant by the Spirit through our faith-filled words. Glory to God! PRAYER*Dear Father, thank you for the shield of faith by which I quench every fiery dart of the enemy. I’m triumphant by the Spirit through my faith-filled confessions. I’m sanctified and vitalized to walk in victory, strength and divine health, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. I live a great life—a life free of pain and anything associated with darkness, because I am born of the light of God’s Word. My whole body is full of life. There’s no trace of sickness, disease, or infirmity in me. I walk in God’s plans and provisions for me. The life of God in me is not susceptible to sickness. Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has paid glowing tributes to the founding fathers of Abia State, commending their foresight and determination which culminated in the creation of the State on August 27, 1991. Speaking during his goodwill message on Wednesday, Governor Otti reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the State and vowed that no part of Abia would be allowed to fall into the hands of criminal elements. The Governor emphasized that his administration is laying the foundation for a new Abia where every citizen and resident will take pride in belonging. He further urged the people to rally around his government in building a brighter and more prosperous future. In his stern warning to criminal groups and bandits, Otti declared: “No inch of Abia State will be safe for those who traffic in violence and tools of destruction. My government will ensure that law-abiding citizens thrive, while criminal elements are completely crushed.” Traditional Rulers Commend Otti’s Leadership In addition to the Governor’s remarks, the Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, also praised the remarkable progress under the current administration. According to him, the State has become significantly more secure, developed, and cleaner since Dr. Otti assumed office. Speaking on the commemoration of 34 years of Abia’s creation, Eze Mbah noted that citizens were now experiencing improved healthcare services, upgraded infrastructure, and better living conditions. He also highlighted that Governor Otti has enhanced the welfare and dignity of traditional rulers in the State. A Modest Celebration Without Public Fanfare Unlike in previous years, Abia’s 34th anniversary was marked quietly without the usual elaborate festivities. LMSINT MEDIA observed that the State Government opted not to hold a public celebration, possibly reflecting a focus on governance and development rather than ceremonial displays. The day, however, remains significant in the hearts of Abians, as it offered an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far and the vision of the founding fathers who dreamed of a prosperous and united State.
Former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has initiated legal proceedings against well-known Nigerian human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, over what has been described as repeated defamatory statements. Obi’s legal representatives, EJESIMEN & CO MADIBA CHAMBERS, SAN, formally issued a legal notice, accusing Adeyanju of persistently making damaging remarks against Obi on X (formerly Twitter) and other social media platforms. According to the legal team, these alleged defamatory comments have harmed the public image of the former governor. Background of the Dispute The lawsuit notice highlighted a particular incident that occurred on August 21, when Adeyanju accused Peter Obi of mismanaging public funds from Anambra State. In his claim, Adeyanju alleged that Obi diverted state resources for the benefit of his family businesses. In the controversial post, Adeyanju also claimed to have personally met Obi, during which the former governor allegedly attempted to offer him money. According to Adeyanju, Obi “called it a thank you for coming,” insisting that his allegation was “100% true.” Obi’s Legal Demands Obi’s legal team did not take these claims lightly. They demanded an immediate and public retraction of the remarks, alongside an unreserved written apology from Adeyanju. The letter further warned that failure to comply with these demands would lead to legal consequences. Deji Adeyanju’s Response In reaction, Adeyanju dismissed Obi’s threat of legal action. Taking to his official Facebook page on Wednesday night, the outspoken lawyer expressed confidence that he was ready to face Obi in court. His statement read: “I can’t wait to meet him in court finally. A fraud parading himself as a messiah.” Adeyanju’s post demonstrates his unyielding stance against Obi, whom he has consistently criticized, particularly regarding Obi’s ambition to become Nigeria’s president. Adeyanju vs. Obi’s Supporters This is not the first time Adeyanju has been at loggerheads with Obi’s supporters, popularly referred to as the Obidients. On multiple occasions, Adeyanju’s social media posts have sparked heated debates and confrontations with Obi’s loyal base, who often counter his unfavorable narratives about their preferred candidate. In a more recent Facebook post, Adeyanju again emphasized his stance that Peter Obi’s chances of ever emerging as the President of Nigeria are slim. He asserted that, in his view, it is “too late” for Obi to win the presidency. This unfolding legal battle is likely to attract widespread national attention, considering both men’s strong followings and the political implications of the case.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, after embarking on a nearly two-week diplomatic tour of Japan and Brazil. The strategic foreign trips were aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s global partnerships, advancing economic ties, and securing international cooperation in critical sectors. According to a statement issued by the President’s Senior Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the presidential aircraft landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at exactly 1:30 a.m. on Thursday. On arrival, President Tinubu was warmly received by top-ranking government officials and aides who welcomed him back to the country. LMSINT MEDIA gathered that President Tinubu’s first stop was Tokyo, Japan, where he attended the ninth edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9). The conference provided a platform for African leaders and Japanese counterparts to discuss trade, investment, and sustainable development across the continent. Following his engagements in Japan, the President proceeded to Brazil for a state visit aimed at expanding Nigeria-Brazil bilateral relations. During the visit, both nations signed no fewer than five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), focusing on diverse sectors such as energy, agriculture, and security cooperation. The agreements are expected to boost Nigeria’s access to new technologies, increase agricultural productivity, and enhance collaborative efforts in national and regional security. Analysts believe these accords could significantly improve trade volumes and open new opportunities for Nigeria’s economy. The presidential aircraft departed from Brasília International Airport Air Force Base at 12:57 p.m. (local time), marking the conclusion of the Brazil leg of the visit. To officially bid farewell to the Nigerian leader, several dignitaries were present, including Brazil’s Secretary for Africa and the Middle East, Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte, and the Brazilian Ambassador to Nigeria, Carlos José Areias Moreno Garcete. Also present at the airport were Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, alongside other senior government officials. This recent tour underscores President Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s position in global affairs while securing foreign partnerships that can deliver tangible results for Nigerians
