I’m not just referring to individuals; even the Church in general can forget its priorities. Look at Church history; it only took three centuries from the inception of the Church for it to dominate the whole world. This was a phenomenal accomplishment in a day when communication and transportation were very slow. In 324 AD, Emperor Constantine abolished the persecution of Christians, and just six years later, by 330 AD, he declared Christianity the religion of the world. The Church was happy about this and, for some reason, became too relaxed. They didn’t see the urgency for evangelism because everything seemed fine. “Everyone’s kind of religious,” they thought, but Jesus didn’t come to establish a religion; He wanted men truly saved. Thus, it’s important to always reappraise our priorities. The children of Israel forgot their priorities. The Bible tells us how God gave them the land He promised them. With it, He gave them rest; there was peace, and everything was fine. (Joshua 21:43-45). He however gave them a warning in Joshua 23:7-8: “That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them: But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day.” The Israelites tried to heed this warning for a while but eventually got carried away and began to serve pagan gods. That’s what happens when we’re not winning souls: the Church begins to get worldly. Soon enough, we start getting interested in their attractive job offers and mouth-watering businesses. They keep pulling us until we start forgetting that we’re supposed to be soul winners. That’s when you see Christians who can’t come to church because they have to go to work on Sundays. Some stop coming to church because business is booming and they always have to travel. Such people have forgotten their priorities. Don’t let the world pull you to its attractions; don’t forget your priorities. Maintain the sanctity of your fellowship and devotion to Christ and to spiritual things. Keep winning souls. The multi-billion-dollar refinery, valued at $20 billion, earlier revealed that it invested about ₦720 billion to procure 4,000 compressed natural gas trucks, though reports indicate that only around 1,000 trucks have been delivered so far. According to the Dangote Group, the initiative is strategically designed to reduce retail fuel prices and is projected to save Nigeria a staggering ₦1.7 trillion annually in fuel distribution costs. New Fuel Price Template Last Thursday, the company rolled out its updated fuel pricing template, pegging the ex-depot price at ₦820 per litre. Retail pump prices, however, vary across states, ranging between ₦841 and ₦851 per litre. While this development has been described as innovative, it has also generated disruptions and concerns in the downstream oil sector, with unions and marketers divided on its impact. The recent directive by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reduce food prices across Nigeria has generated mixed reactions among farmers and food traders. While the initiative was announced to bring relief to struggling households, many within the agricultural and trading sectors believe it could create financial challenges for them. Last week, President Tinubu ordered an immediate crash in food prices as part of his administration’s measures to ease the rising cost of living for ordinary Nigerians. However, those directly involved in farming and food supply argue that the policy may have unintended consequences. Malam Abba Sani, a farmer based in Kano, expressed his concerns in an interview. According to him, the cost of farming inputs such as seeds and fertilizer has already risen sharply. He questioned how farmers would be able to recover their investments under the new price-slash directive. “We bought seeds and fertiliser at very high prices. If food prices are forced down, how are we supposed to regain our money?” Sani lamented. He further explained that although the policy might look attractive to the general public, farmers like him may end up suffocating under the pressure of reduced returns. In a similar development, Bashir Madara, the Public Relations Officer of Singer Market, one of the largest food markets in northern Nigeria, also shared his perspective in a discussion with LMSINT MEDIA. He acknowledged that Tinubu’s decision comes with good intentions for the poor, but highlighted the potential negative impact on traders with existing stock. Madara stated: “Every patriotic Nigerian who truly wants the less privileged to have some relief will appreciate the President’s decision to cut food prices. However, traders who already have stockpiled goods will suffer losses once the new directive is enforced.” He explained that in the past, many traders bought in bulk to maximize profits, but the current economic climate has forced them to change strategy. According to him, most traders now purchase smaller quantities of goods to sell quickly, reducing the risk of being affected by sudden government price interventions. “Today, traders carefully monitor market direction. Unlike before when businessmen made bulk purchases, now they prefer stocking what can be sold in a short time, hoping prices might drop further before their next purchase. This approach reduces heavy losses, although some risk remains,” Madara said. While acknowledging that losses are inevitable, he advised traders to dispose of their old stock promptly before the government’s price reduction order is fully implemented. He also appealed to the government to balance the interests of both traders and the citizens when implementing such economic measures. Despite his caution, Madara concluded that the order remains beneficial for ordinary Nigerians struggling under inflation. He reiterated that the government should, however, create supportive policies to protect those who supply the markets, ensuring both traders and consumers can thrive.

The Ondo State Government has officially suspended three senior officials for their alleged role in a recruitment fraud linked to the recent employment exercise for teachers in the state. The suspended officers include two directors and a deputy director, who were removed from duty following the directive of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation into the job racketeering scandal. According to reports, the officials were accused of collecting between ₦500,000 and ₦700,000 from unsuspecting job seekers, depending on their academic qualifications, in exchange for fraudulent appointment letters. The scam was uncovered after several individuals staged a protest, claiming they were unfairly excluded from the biometric verification exercise for newly employed teachers. However, investigations later revealed that most of the protesters had presented forged employment documents, which raised suspicion. In an official statement released by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Aiyedatiwa, the government clarified that the protesters were not among the more than 2,000 teachers legitimately recruited and already deployed across various schools in the state. Adeniyan explained that internal findings confirmed that the three suspended officials at the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) had conspired with external accomplices to provide fake appointment and posting letters to unsuspecting applicants in exchange for large sums of money. Governor Aiyedatiwa’s spokesperson emphasized: “The attention of the Governor has been drawn to a protest by some individuals who claimed they were wrongly excluded from the SUBEB recruitment process. To clarify, these protesters were not genuine employees of the state but rather victims of fraud. They paid money to scammers and were issued counterfeit letters. During biometric verification, their documents were discovered to be invalid. Disciplinary action has been taken against the three SUBEB officials found guilty of colluding with outsiders to exploit job seekers.” This development highlights the government’s resolve to maintain transparency and accountability in public service recruitment while assuring citizens that fraudulent practices will not be tolerated.

In Christ, every promise God ever made has already been fulfilled. You don’t need to beg, wait, or wonder, because in Him, the answer is “Yes” and the confirmation is “Amen!” Hallelujah! Imagine all the beautiful promises of the Old Testament, the entire blessings of Abraham—they’ve all been fulfilled in Christ. Now that you’re in Christ, you’ve possessed the blessings. You’ve received the promise of the Spirit and the fullness of divine life. 2 Peter 1:3 tells us that His divine power has “…given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” Every blessing you can ever imagine, anything good that you can ever contemplate in Christ Jesus, they’re already your present-hour possessions. Sadly, due to their ignorance of this reality, some Christians live as though they’re still trying to obtain what God has already given to them. They pray and cry for what they should simply acknowledge and receive by faith. You were born into an incorruptible inheritance. All things are yours now: “Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21-22). The Word says, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32). This means nothing is withheld from you. God gave you His best, the Lord Jesus. Along with Him, He freely gave you everything: eternal life, righteousness, divine health, prosperity, wisdom, victory, etc. It’s time to stop “seeking” and start walking in the blessings. Enjoy your inheritance in Christ. Declare, “All things are mine. All blessings and divine favours are mine, and I enjoy them in real-time.” If it’s written in the Word, then it’s already yours. Take possession with your words. Rejoice like one who has received. Act like one who has inherited the blessings. You’re not a beggar in the Kingdom. You’re a possessor. All the promises are yours, and in Christ, they are fulfilled. Glory to God! The Lord is with me and for me! The Lord delights in me, and He has given me an eternal testimony. Everywhere I go, testimonies and shouts of joy and victory abound all around me. I belong in God’s superior class of divine beings. I am a king, and my words are full of power and authority; therefore, I live a life of victory, success, divine health, abundance, excellence, and glory. I am not a victim in this life. I am born and called to be a victor. I enjoy extraordinary strength by the Holy Ghost and divine enablement in my inner man. My life is a life of ever-increasing glory and peace. Former President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and 2023 presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has revealed that the inability of opposition candidates to form a united front in the 2023 general election gave President Bola Ahmed Tinubu the needed advantage to secure victory. According to him, the disunity among Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) ultimately weakened the opposition bloc. He emphasized that the fragmentation of votes was a decisive factor that handed Tinubu his win under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Opposition Votes Could Have Changed the Outcome In an interview with The Sun, Ohuabunwa stated that if the votes garnered by the three major opposition figures had been combined, the results would have been different. He stressed that the collective votes of Obi, Atiku, and Kwankwaso nearly doubled those of President Tinubu in 2023, which shows that unity could have significantly altered the political landscape. “If those votes were merged, Tinubu would not have emerged victorious,” Ohuabunwa noted, highlighting the critical role of coalition politics in Nigeria’s democracy. Why Tinubu Benefited from Opposition Defections Ohuabunwa further explained that the exit of the three powerful politicians and their supporters from the PDP was a huge loss to the party and a turning point in the election. Their departure created an opening that allowed the ruling APC to consolidate its strength and emerge victorious. He argued that the APC capitalized on the disunity, just as it had done in the past when it rose to power through a coalition involving the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). The 2027 Election and the Possibility of a Coalition Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Ohuabunwa expressed optimism that if Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso can put aside personal ambitions and unite, they have a real chance to unseat the ruling party. However, he warned that the APC is determined to frustrate any attempt at forming such a coalition. “From all indications, the APC does not want this alliance to succeed. They don’t want it to take root, talk less of bearing fruit. But if the opposition can work together, they will have the numbers to defeat the ruling government—provided there is a free and fair election,” he added. The politician maintained that Nigeria’s history has shown the power of alliances.
