Gabam Still the Legitimate SDP National Chairman – Ex-Governorship Candidate, Segun Oyegbolu

Former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, Segun Oyegbolu, has reaffirmed that the recently expelled National Chairman of the party, Shehu Gabam, remains the legitimate leader of the SDP. Oyegbolu made this assertion during an exclusive interview on Prime Time, a political discussion programme aired on Arise Television and monitored by LMSINT MEDIA. According to him, despite the party’s official announcement of Gabam’s expulsion, the embattled chairman still holds the authority of leadership until proper procedures are followed within the party’s constitution. Speaking on the controversy surrounding Gabam’s removal, Oyegbolu stated that internal party issues should not be resolved through public media debates but rather through the established structures of the SDP. He emphasized that the party’s unity and credibility depend on adherence to due process and respect for leadership hierarchy. Oyegbolu further expressed concern that the ongoing leadership dispute could affect the SDP’s chances in upcoming elections if not handled appropriately. He advised party members to prioritize reconciliation and avoid unnecessary divisions that could weaken their political strength across states. In his words: “The expulsion of Shehu Gabam is not valid until it follows the constitutional guidelines of the Social Democratic Party. As far as I am concerned, Gabam remains the National Chairman until proven otherwise through the appropriate legal and administrative channels.” The former gubernatorial candidate also highlighted the importance of maintaining party discipline while respecting democratic principles. He urged SDP members nationwide to remain calm and await the official resolution of the leadership issue. Meanwhile, political observers have noted that the crisis within the SDP mirrors similar leadership tussles that have plagued other political parties in Nigeria, raising concerns about internal democracy in the nation’s political system. For now, the SDP National Executive Council (NEC) has yet to release a comprehensive statement addressing the controversy, fueling further speculation within the party’s ranks. The Social Democratic Party, which positions itself as a credible alternative to the dominant political forces in Nigeria, faces a major test of its internal cohesion and leadership transparency in the coming months.

EPL: Manchester United Set to Face Difficulties During AFCON – Ruben Amorim Warns

Manchester United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim, has openly acknowledged that the club will face a challenging period when several key players leave to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) later this season. Amorim expressed his concerns ahead of the upcoming tournament, emphasizing that Manchester United could “suffer and struggle for a little while” when the competition begins. The 2026 AFCON is scheduled to kick off on December 21, 2025, and conclude with the final match on January 18, 2026. During this crucial stage of the season, Amorim will be without some of his key attacking and defensive options. Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo are both expected to feature prominently for their national teams—Cameroon and Ivory Coast, respectively—while Noussair Mazraoui, the Moroccan international defender, is also likely to join his national side. The Portuguese manager stressed that losing three vital players simultaneously could significantly impact the team’s performance, especially as this period coincides with a congested Premier League fixture list and potential FA Cup matches. “We have built a balanced squad, but during AFCON, we will definitely feel the absence of key players. It’s a challenge that every big team faces when international duties overlap with club competitions,” Amorim reportedly said. Manchester United are currently aiming to maintain consistency in their Premier League campaign, with Amorim working to restore stability and confidence within the team. The temporary loss of top talents like Mbeumo, Diallo, and Mazraoui could affect both attacking creativity and defensive solidity. Football analysts believe Amorim may need to rely on younger talents or reshuffle his tactical setup to cope during the international period. Players like Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Rasmus Højlund may have to take on additional responsibilities as United seeks to remain competitive in both domestic and European fixtures. The AFCON tournament, known for showcasing Africa’s finest football talents, often presents challenges for European clubs whose players are called up for national duty. Amorim’s transparency about the potential difficulties reflects the broader issue many clubs face each time the continental championship takes place.

Reverse Urban Gardening: Transforming Indoor Spaces into Green Oases

The Rise of Reverse Urban Gardening In a fast-paced, concrete-driven world where skyscrapers outnumber trees, reverse urban gardening is redefining how we connect with nature. Vertical Food Forests on City Walls: Creating Multi-Layered Gardens in Urban Landscapes

In the heart of concrete-urban environments, the idea of transforming a plain wall into a thriving, edible ecosystem is nothing short of inspiring. A “vertical food forest on a city wall” combines the principles of permaculture, urban agriculture and architectural innovation to create multi-layered gardens climbing up building façades. In this article I’ll guide you deep into how to design, implement and maintain such systems, clearly explaining each aspect and referencing trusted sources so you can understand and apply. What is a Vertical Food Forest? A food forest traditionally is a multi-tiered planting system imitating natural forest layers — canopy trees, shrubs, ground-covers, climbers and root layers. When we apply that concept to a vertical wall, we get: In essence, your blank urban wall becomes a productive, living ecosystem. Why Should You Do It? Major Benefits 1. Space Efficiency & Food Security In dense cities, horizontal land is scarce. Vertical food forests allow you to use vertical surfaces to grow edible plants. This effectively multiplies usable planting area. Local food production helps reduce dependence on distant supply chains, making communities more resilient. 2. Environmental & Micro-Climate Benefits Walls covered in vegetation can reduce the urban heat island effect by shading surfaces and promoting evapotranspiration. They also can improve air quality by filtering pollutants and trapping dust. 3. Biodiversity & Urban Ecology By introducing layers of plants, you support insects, pollinators, birds and other beneficial organisms — boosting urban biodiversity. 4. Aesthetic, Psychological & Social Impact Such green walls transform mundane façades into vibrant living art. They also improve well-being by connecting people with nature. 5. Energy & Building Benefits A well-designed vertical planting system acts as insulation: in summer it reduces heat gain, in winter reduces heat loss. Streetlight-Assisted Night Gardening: How to Use City Lights for Plant Growth

In the ever-evolving world of urban living, innovation doesn’t stop at architecture or technology—it extends even to how we grow our plants. Streetlight-assisted night gardening is a fascinating new approach that transforms city lights into a resource for urban gardeners. Instead of seeing nightfall as a pause in plant growth, this modern gardening method uses artificial lighting—like LED streetlights and urban illumination—to sustain photosynthesis even after sunset. This isn’t just a futuristic concept. Gardeners in cities like Tokyo, New York, and Lagos have started experimenting with streetlight-based plant growth, proving that the urban glow can be an unexpected ally to your garden. ? Understanding Streetlight-Assisted Gardening Streetlight-assisted gardening refers to using artificial city lighting to support plant growth during nighttime. Typically, plants rely on sunlight for photosynthesis, but certain LED or sodium-vapor streetlights emit wavelengths that can mimic sunlight, allowing plants to continue limited photosynthesis after dark. According to a study published by NASA, specific light spectrums—especially red and blue wavelengths—can boost chlorophyll production and promote healthier, faster-growing plants under controlled conditions. NASA Plant Research) However, not all streetlights are equally beneficial. The light intensity, color temperature, and exposure time all affect how plants respond to artificial illumination. ? The Science Behind City Light and Plant Growth Plants use light for photosynthesis—the process that converts carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. The Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) range (400–700 nanometers) is essential for plant energy conversion. Interestingly, modern LED streetlights often emit light in this same range. So, if your balcony or street garden is near a LED-lit area, you might notice your plants growing stronger or flowering out of season — that’s light pollution acting as a growth stimulant. ? Benefits of Streetlight-Assisted Gardening ? Challenges and How to Overcome Them While streetlight-assisted gardening offers unique advantages, there are also limitations and precautions: ? Best Plants for Streetlight-Assisted Night Gardening Certain plants adapt better to nighttime illumination and thrive even under low-light conditions. Examples include: ? Practical Tips for Urban Gardeners ? Real-Life Example: Tokyo’s Urban Gardens In Tokyo, where light pollution is widespread, community gardens have begun leveraging street and billboard lighting for urban agriculture. These experimental gardens show that artificial illumination, when managed properly, can accelerate vegetable maturity and extend growing seasons — especially in colder months when sunlight is limited. ? Conclusion Streetlight-assisted night gardening is a revolutionary blend of nature and technology, proving that urbanization and sustainability can coexist. By understanding how different light spectrums and exposures influence plants, city dwellers can transform their balconies, rooftops, and sidewalks into lush, glowing gardens that thrive 24/7. So next time you walk under a streetlight, remember—it might not just be lighting your path; it could be nurturing life right beside you.

Rhapsody of Realities October 30th 2025, HEIRS OF THE PROMISE

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:29). In Christ, you’re born God’s heir. All of His wealth and resources belong to you: “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ…” (Romans 8:17). The Bible says the silver, gold, precious stones and the whole world belong to Him: “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts” (Haggai 2:8). In Psalm 50:10-12, He said, “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine…for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof.” Therefore, as an heir of God, and joint heir with Christ, the silver, the gold, the cattle upon a thousand hills, the world and the fullness thereof, belong to you as much as they belong to Him. See yourself in this light, for this is the truth about your prosperity. In the same way that the righteousness of God was imparted to your spirit when you were born again, prosperity and greatness have been imparted to your spirit. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says, “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” What does this mean? First, understand that Jesus never became poor spiritually. So, the scripture we just read is talking about physical, material, and financial blessings. Jesus became poor for your sake so that from what He gave up, you might inherit abundance. Don’t see your job or business as your source. Live a joyful, prosperous life every day. You’re the habitation of all of God’s blessings: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3). Remember what the Lord said to Abraham, “…I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2); and He really did bless Abraham. Paul revealed in Galatians 3:16 that the promised blessing wasn’t to Abraham alone but to Abraham and his seed. That seed is Christ. And we read in our opening scripture that “…if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). You’re the inheritor of the blessings of Abraham. Everywhere you go, you carry blessings with you. When you show up, blessings arrive. Hallelujah! CONFESSIONI’m the seed of Abraham, and therefore the possessor and distributor of divine blessings. Salvation, righteousness, prosperity, healing, God’s goodness, mercies and grace flow through me to bless my world! I walk in abundance, health and success all my days. I’m blessed in all things and in every way. Blessed be God! ‘We Will Keep Insurgents Running’ – New Chief of Air Staff Vows Decisive Military Strategy

The newly confirmed Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has vowed to strengthen the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) with renewed discipline, advanced training, and strategic modernization — ensuring that insurgents are constantly “running without time to think or plan.” During his confirmation appearance before the National Assembly on Wednesday, AVM Aneke emphasized that his leadership would focus on operational efficiency and intelligence-driven military power rather than brute force. “I use the word lethal in a professional sense,” he clarified, “because a man running from you will not have the time to plan to hurt you.” He went on to highlight that his command philosophy would be guided by training, technology, safety, and strategic innovation, ensuring that the Nigerian Air Force operates at peak readiness to counter emerging threats. AVM Aneke added that his goal is to foster a force capable of “responding swiftly, thinking strategically, and acting decisively.” The new Air Chief noted that true military power lies in superior intellect and adaptability, not just in firepower. His statement signals a new era of intelligence-led air operations designed to maintain air superiority and sustain peace within the country. The Nigerian Air Force, which has been a critical player in combating insurgency and terrorism across the nation, especially in the North-East region, is expected to undergo operational and technological reforms under his command. This pledge aligns with Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to enhance its national security framework and modernize defense capabilities to confront evolving security challenges. Observers believe that AVM Aneke’s emphasis on innovation and disciplined leadership could reposition the Air Force for more efficient coordination with other military branches in tackling insurgency, terrorism, and emerging asymmetric warfare. As he assumes office, stakeholders within the defense sector and beyond have expressed optimism that the new leadership will restore heightened morale among officers and significantly boost Nigeria’s aerial defense capabilities.

Demolition in Oworonshoki: Displaced Residents Forced to Sell Belongings for Pennies

The Oworonshoki waterfront community in Lagos has been thrown into despair following the Lagos State Government’s midnight demolition of residential structures along Tolu Alashe Street. The once-thriving neighborhood, known for its vibrant local trade and close-knit community, has now been reduced to a field of debris and heartbreak. When LMSINT Media revisited the scene yesterday, what was once a bustling settlement had turned into a haunting landscape of destruction. Broken concrete blocks, collapsed roofs, and scattered household belongings painted a grim picture of loss. Many displaced residents—especially women and children—were seen wandering aimlessly, their faces reflecting exhaustion and helplessness as they sought a place to lay their heads. Several residents, stripped of their homes and livelihoods overnight, were forced to sell off their remaining possessions for meager amounts just to survive. Cooking pots, chairs, radios, and other personal items were exchanged for pennies, while others simply abandoned theirs, unable to carry them through the ruins. Witnesses described the demolition as sudden and devastating. “They came at midnight without prior notice,” one resident lamented, clutching what was left of her family’s belongings. “We had no time to gather our things. Everything we worked for is gone.” The Lagos State Government has previously cited safety, urban renewal, and environmental concerns as reasons for clearing illegal waterfront settlements. However, human rights advocates argue that such demolitions often violate residents’ rights to adequate housing and fair relocation procedures. According to Amnesty International, forced evictions in Lagos have displaced thousands without compensation or alternative shelter, leaving many to face life-threatening conditions. As the sun set over the shattered community, some residents huddled under makeshift tents, while others sat silently beside the ruins of their homes. Their future remains uncertain. Despite promises of government rehabilitation schemes in past cases, little tangible support has reached victims of similar demolitions in the state. The situation in Oworonshoki highlights the growing tension between urban development policies and human displacement in Lagos. While authorities push for modernization and city beautification, thousands of poor families continue to pay the price.

Reps Approve President Tinubu’s Request to Borrow $2.35 Billion and Issue $500 Million Sovereign Sukuk

The House of Representatives has officially given approval to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s request to borrow a total sum of $2.35 billion to help finance part of Nigeria’s 2025 budget deficit. The decision marks a significant step in the government’s efforts to bridge the nation’s fiscal gaps and sustain critical developmental projects in the coming year. In addition to this, the House also approved the President’s plan to issue a $500 million debut sovereign sukuk in the international capital market. This initiative aims to support key infrastructure projects across Nigeria while diversifying the country’s financing sources. According to legislative reports, the $2.35 billion loan will be obtained through concessional facilities that offer favorable repayment conditions and low-interest rates. The borrowed funds are expected to be directed toward vital sectors such as transportation, power, agriculture, and education, aligning with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The $500 million sovereign sukuk—a non-interest Islamic bond—will provide an alternative financing option to traditional loans, helping Nigeria to attract investors from Middle Eastern and Asian financial markets. This marks Nigeria’s first sovereign sukuk issuance in the international market, further demonstrating the government’s strategic move to diversify its funding sources. Lawmakers emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and proper utilization of the borrowed funds. They noted that with effective management, the loan and sukuk proceeds could accelerate economic growth, enhance infrastructural development, and promote investor confidence in the Nigerian economy. Financial experts have, however, cautioned that while borrowing may be necessary to fund budget deficits, it is important to ensure that the loans are invested in productive sectors capable of generating sufficient revenue to repay the debts without burdening future generations. The federal government continues to assure Nigerians that all borrowings are within the limits prescribed by the Fiscal Responsibility Act, and that such funds are being carefully managed to drive economic stability and long-term development. The approval by the House of Representatives reflects growing confidence in President Tinubu’s fiscal and economic policies, particularly those targeted at achieving macroeconomic balance, expanding infrastructure, and stimulating private-sector investment. For Nigeria, the decision represents both an opportunity and a challenge—an opportunity to strengthen the economy through smart borrowing and infrastructure development, and a challenge to ensure that every dollar borrowed delivers measurable results for citizens.

How to Fix Nigeria’s Security Challenges — Service Chiefs Speak on Long-Term Solutions

Nigeria’s new service chiefs, recently appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have outlined strategic measures to address the nation’s ongoing security challenges. During their confirmation session before the Senate in Abuja, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, emphasized the urgent need for structural reforms and adequate funding across the country’s security architecture. Lt. General Oluyede highlighted that one of the fundamental steps toward restoring national stability is empowering the Nigeria Police Force with proper funding and equipment. According to him, the police should be strengthened to handle internal security operations, allowing the military to focus on its constitutional responsibilities, particularly the defense of the nation from external aggression. He pointed out that the military is overstretched due to multiple internal deployments, noting that a more robust police system would ease the burden on soldiers who are currently engaged in domestic security matters. “If the Police Force is properly equipped and motivated, they can take over internal operations, while the armed forces focus solely on their constitutional mandate,” he stated. The new CDS further stressed the importance of adequate financial support for the Nigerian Armed Forces, explaining that without sufficient funding, the ongoing fight against terrorism and insurgency cannot be effectively sustained. He noted that the military requires both modern equipment and continuous logistical support to strengthen its capabilities in tackling banditry, insurgency, and terrorism. Lt. General Oluyede also urged the Federal Government to prioritize local production of military hardware to ensure long-term self-reliance. He observed that Nigeria’s dependence on imported military equipment is not sustainable, especially given the challenges of delayed procurement and high costs. Encouraging indigenous production, he said, would not only reduce dependency on foreign countries but also boost the local defense industry and create employment opportunities. He added that promoting homegrown technological innovations in defense manufacturing will play a vital role in enhancing the military’s efficiency. “Relying on local production will enable faster access to resources during emergencies and foster national pride in homegrown military capabilities,” he said. Security experts also agree that strengthening synergy among the various security agencies—including the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Nigerian Police Force (NPF)—is crucial in combating insecurity. Collaboration, intelligence sharing, and unified operations have been identified as critical to achieving peace and stability nationwide. As the new service chiefs assume office, Nigerians are optimistic that the renewed approach and calls for security sector reform will yield tangible results. Many believe that the combination of improved funding, equipment modernization, and a shift toward domestic production could mark the beginning of a sustainable and proactive defense strategy for Nigeria.

Liverpool reaffirm support for Arne Slot despite run of poor results

Liverpool FC have dismissed any immediate plans to dismiss their manager, Arne Slot, even after a devastating defeat and a dismal sequence of outcomes. The club’s rejection of any imminent dismissal follows their exit from the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and marks the sixth loss in seven matches for the Reds. Slot’s side have endured a torrid period in the Premier League, suffering four consecutive defeats, which has seen them slip to seventh in the table. They now trail league leaders Arsenal FC by seven points, underscoring a sharp downturn from their usual standards. Despite the alarm bells ringing, Liverpool’s hierarchy remain steadfast in their confidence. According to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, the club’s decision-makers are “100 percent convinced” that Slot is the right person to steer the team out of this slump, as they believe the current issues stem from time needed for new players to settle rather than managerial failure. The club’s stance draws a line under speculation around Slot’s future — for now. That said, the next set of fixtures promise little reprieve: a run of tough matches awaits and the pressure will only mount if results do not improve. Why the decision makes sense What still needs addressing What’s next for Liverpool With upcoming clashes against high-calibre opponents, the margin for error is shrinking. Should the poor run continue, the club may have to reassess its stance — but for the moment, Slot remains firmly in place.
