The outcome of the recent Anambra governorship election continues to generate intense discussions across digital platforms, even two weeks after the exercise. The political atmosphere in the state remains charged as citizens analyze the results, share opinions, and debate the unexpected outcomes that unfolded at the polls. LMSINT MEDIA recalls that Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election and a major political figure in Anambra State, suffered a surprising setback during the election. Despite his strong grassroots support and influence within the state, he lost at his own polling unit—an outcome that immediately triggered widespread reactions online. During the election, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), led by the incumbent governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, dominated the polls with a sweeping victory. Governor Soludo’s performance reaffirmed APGA’s longstanding foothold in Anambra’s political landscape. Meanwhile, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) finished in a distant second position, leaving observers examining the shifting political dynamics in the state. The controversy surrounding Peter Obi’s polling unit result has continued to ignite conversations on social media. Many users express surprise, while others interpret the outcome as a reflection of evolving voter sentiments. The debate underscores how deeply Anambra residents and Nigerians at large remain invested in the state’s political developments. As conversations persist, the Anambra guber election stands as one of the most talked-about political events in recent times, with its ripple effects still echoing across online communities.
Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has stated that citizens have the fundamental right to look beyond national borders for protection whenever they believe their safety is no longer guaranteed within the country. He made this remark on Friday while addressing the growing concerns surrounding insecurity across Nigeria. Obasanjo emphasized that every Nigerian deserves to feel safe, and when security institutions fail to provide adequate protection, people are free to seek international support. According to him, personal safety is a basic human right that should not be compromised under any circumstance. He further stressed that with advancements in modern technology, criminals can no longer hide easily. In his words, today’s digital systems allow law enforcement agencies to track offenders almost anywhere, making it extremely difficult for them to escape accountability. He encouraged the use of these technological tools to ensure justice, explaining that offenders can be traced and apprehended even when they attempt to flee. The former president pointed out that technology has transformed security operations globally, and Nigeria must embrace these changes to strengthen its internal defense systems. He added that no criminal should be able to evade justice in a world where digital footprints, surveillance tools, communication monitoring, and international partnerships make tracking easier than ever before. Obasanjo’s comments mirror the frustrations of Nigerians who continue to face threats such as kidnapping, banditry, terrorism, and rising criminal activities. Many citizens feel that the inability of security agencies to curb these issues has created an atmosphere of fear, prompting discussions on alternative ways to protect themselves and their communities. He reiterated that seeking help from international organizations, allied countries, or global security bodies should not be seen as disloyalty. Instead, it is a necessary step when citizens feel abandoned or unsupported. The ultimate priority, he noted, should be the protection of human lives. Obasanjo concluded by urging the Nigerian government to strengthen coordination, improve intelligence gathering, and leverage global innovations to restore confidence in the nation’s security architecture. He insisted that no one should commit a crime and walk away freely, especially in an era where technology makes it possible to identify and capture criminals swiftly.
The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Oji River in Enugu State, Rt. Rev. Ikechukwu Egbuonu, has shed light on the growing concerns expressed by Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), during his recent visit to the Sokoto Correctional Facility. The bishop, who spoke during an interview with AIT, explained that the purpose of his visit was to check on Kanu’s well-being, offer spiritual support, and listen directly to the challenges he has faced since being moved to the Sokoto prison. According to Bishop Egbuonu, Nnamdi Kanu specifically drew attention to his deteriorating heart condition. The IPOB leader reportedly expressed worry over the fact that his medical situation has not improved, highlighting that his health challenges require closer monitoring and consistent medical care. Kanu is said to have emphasised that the environment and distance make it difficult for him to receive timely medical attention. The bishop further revealed that Kanu raised another major concern—the overwhelming distance between Abuja, where most of his legal proceedings take place, and Sokoto, where he is currently detained. He explained that Kanu fears that the long journey may severely affect his ability to continue with his appeal process. The IPOB leader reportedly noted that frequent transportation from Sokoto to Abuja could worsen his heart condition and delay the progress of his legal interventions. Bishop Egbuonu stated that these issues weighed heavily on Kanu’s mind throughout the visit. He noted that the IPOB leader spoke with great anxiety about how the situation may hinder his right to fair legal representation due to constant travel, prolonged waiting times, and health pressures. The bishop concluded by appealing for adequate medical attention for the detainee and emphasized that ensuring Kanu’s health and fair legal access should remain a priority for the authorities.
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has strongly advised the Federal Government to discontinue its approach of negotiating or offering apologies to terrorists. He stressed that such actions could weaken national security strategies and embolden violent groups across the country. Obasanjo delivered this firm message during the Plateau State Unity Christmas Carol and Praise Festival held in Jos, the capital city of Plateau State. Addressing participants at the event, he emphasized that Nigeria must adopt a more decisive and coordinated method of tackling terrorism, rather than relying on dialogue with criminal armed groups. According to the former president, a nation must not allow terror organizations to dictate terms or influence government decisions. He noted that consistent negotiations may create the impression that the government lacks the strength or the will to confront insecurity effectively. Obasanjo further stressed that sustainable peace requires robust security architecture, strong community cooperation, and a leadership approach that does not encourage violent groups seeking concessions. He called for unity among Nigerians and highlighted the importance of rebuilding trust between citizens and security institutions. Obasanjo reiterated that Nigeria’s progress depends on a collective resolve to reject violence and support actions that reinforce national stability. The Plateau State Unity Christmas Carol and Praise Festival brought together religious leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, and residents committed to promoting peace across the state. Obasanjo’s message resonated strongly with attendees who have experienced several security challenges within the region over the years. His remarks add to ongoing national conversations on how best to restore lasting peace and effectively address the activities of insurgents, bandits, and other violent groups. Many stakeholders believe that strengthening intelligence gathering, improving security personnel welfare, and enhancing community-based security partnerships remain critical to securing Nigeria’s future.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind (Matthew 13:47). In soul winning, there’s the ministry of personal evangelism, the one-on-one relentless pursuit of souls until they’re fully won and established in the Faith. But there’s also the “large-scale catch.” The Lord Jesus, in our theme verse, likened the Kingdom of heaven to a net cast into the sea that gathered fish of every kind. Picture a net thrown into the sea of humanity, drawing in people from every walk of life. That’s what happens through our mass evangelism efforts, our crusades, campaigns, and outreach programs where we reach out and haul sinners en masse into the Kingdom. That’s what the Master describes in Matthew 13:47-48; our deliberate, organized effort to reach and bring in multitudes. It says, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.” That’s salvation, calling people to Christ, bringing them into the Church. That’s the drawing in of the harvest. So, as a cell or fellowship group, as a church, zone or ministry, when are you casting the net? It’s good to encourage individual witnessing, people going out daily to tell others about the Lord Jesus. But there are times we must plan and act together to reach whole communities, cities, towns and nations with a clear, strategic mission to bring them into the Kingdom. It’s time to organize and reach many en masse. Set a target where you plan to reach a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand, or a hundred thousand people at once and go for it. Perhaps your target is to reach a million people or more; go for it. The Lord will bring it to fruition. It’s His work, and we’re partners with Him. He’ll give you the strategies to succeed. Anything born of Him prevails, multiplies and blossoms. That’s the mindset you should have. He said the harvest is plenty, and we’re His labourers for the large-scale catch. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for showing me the power of both personal and collective evangelism. I’m committed to the end-time, large-scale harvest to gather multitudes into the Kingdom. All around the world, the collective soul-winning efforts of your children are producing results mightily in the nations, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Chelsea legend Gary Cahill has issued a stark warning to Arsenal amid the Premier League title race, emphasizing that Manchester City should not be underestimated. Despite trailing in the league standings, Cahill believes City possess the quality, experience, and tactical depth required to stage a strong comeback this season. Currently, Manchester City sit in third place on the Premier League table, seven points behind leaders Arsenal, as they prepare to face Leeds United this weekend. While many pundits have tipped Arsenal to cruise to the title, Cahill insists that Pep Guardiola’s side remain serious contenders for the coveted Premier League crown. “Manchester City have the squad, the manager, and the winning mentality to fight until the end. Arsenal should not get too comfortable at the top of the table,” Cahill commented in a recent interview. City’s track record in the Premier League under Guardiola demonstrates their resilience. The club has repeatedly shown the ability to overturn seemingly difficult situations, relying on a combination of tactical ingenuity, squad rotation, and key player performances. With crucial matches approaching in the final stretch of the season, every point will count, making the title race far from over. For Arsenal, Cahill’s warning serves as a reminder that consistency and focus are paramount. Any slip-up against lower-ranked teams could open the door for City to close the gap and possibly reclaim the top spot before the season concludes. As fans eagerly anticipate the weekend fixtures, the EPL title race promises to deliver drama, excitement, and unforgettable moments. Whether Arsenal can maintain their lead or Manchester City stages a late-season surge remains a hot topic among football analysts and supporters alike
Ahead of Arsenal’s crucial Premier League showdown with Chelsea on Sunday evening at Stamford Bridge, manager Mikel Arteta has showered praise on two of his standout players this season. Arteta highlighted the impressive contributions of Cristhian Mosquera and William Saliba, emphasizing their consistency and influence on the pitch for the Gunners. The Arsenal boss noted that both players have been exceptional in their performances so far, consistently demonstrating defensive solidity, tactical awareness, and composure under pressure. Their impressive displays have been integral to Arsenal’s strong start in both domestic and European competitions. Notably, Mosquera and Saliba played pivotal roles in Arsenal’s midweek UEFA Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, which saw the Gunners secure a commanding 3-1 victory. Their defensive organization and ability to neutralize threats were key factors in ensuring Arsenal maintained control throughout the match. Arteta’s commendation reflects the manager’s growing reliance on young talents like Mosquera and established defenders like Saliba to fortify the team. The duo’s performances have not only bolstered Arsenal’s defense but also inspired confidence throughout the squad as they prepare to face one of their traditional rivals in Chelsea. With the Premier League season reaching a critical juncture, Arteta’s trust in his players’ abilities will be tested as Arsenal aims to continue their pursuit of top honors. Fans and analysts alike will be keen to see whether Mosquera and Saliba can maintain their high standards in the high-pressure environment of Stamford Bridge. Arsenal supporters will undoubtedly be hoping for a strong showing from the Gunners as they take on Chelsea, with Mosquera and Saliba at the heart of their efforts to secure another vital win.
Bayern Munich skipper Joshua Kimmich has stirred fresh controversy in the football world after openly dismissing Arsenal’s style of play and insisting that the Premier League contenders are not the most challenging opponents Bayern have faced this season. Speaking after Bayern Munich’s 3–1 loss to Arsenal in Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League fixture, the German midfielder made it clear that he does not view Mikel Arteta’s side as the toughest team they have encountered. Instead, Kimmich claimed that Arsenal operate with a mentality focused purely on getting results, rather than showcasing what he considers real football. According to him, the Gunners’ approach is built around doing “whatever it takes” to secure a win, rather than demonstrating a structured or expressive brand of football. His remarks have since sparked mixed reactions among fans, analysts, and pundits who believe Arsenal’s rise under Arteta is rooted in tactical evolution and disciplined play. Bayern’s defeat at the Emirates Stadium — a game filled with intense exchanges, quick transitions, and decisive finishing — highlighted areas the German giants must improve. However, Kimmich insisted that tougher challenges have come from other teams earlier in the season, despite Arsenal’s strong Champions League campaign. This statement adds a new layer of tension to Bayern Munich’s season, especially as they continue to compete across multiple competitions while seeking to regain European dominance. Kimmich’s comments may also fuel future rivalry narratives, especially if both sides meet again later in the tournament. His remarks raise questions about how top athletes define “tough opponents” and the evolving expectations of modern football, where tactical adaptability often makes the difference between winning and losing.
The wave of insecurity across Niger State has escalated again, occurring barely a week after more than 300 schoolchildren were taken from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area. In a fresh attack that has thrown several communities into fear, armed bandits invaded Palaita community in Erena Ward, located within Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, and abducted residents during a violent assault. According to local accounts, the attackers stormed a rice farm where villagers were working and forcefully seized 24 people, including a pregnant woman. The incident was described as brutal and terrifying, with eyewitnesses stating that the bandits also mutilated a visually impaired man by cutting off his hand during the raid. Residents reported that the assailants operated for hours without interruption, moving victims into the forest through rough terrain that is difficult to access. Many families in the area are now in distress as they await updates on their missing loved ones, fearing potential ransom demands or further violence. This latest assault comes at a time when communities in Shiroro, Munya, and other parts of Niger State continue to experience repeated attacks, forcing thousands to flee their homes. Despite growing concerns, insecurity in the region remains a major challenge, with locals calling for urgent intervention and stronger security presence. While eyewitnesses insist that at least 24 individuals were taken, the Niger State Police Command offered conflicting information, stating that only 10 people were confirmed to have been kidnapped. Authorities explained that security agencies had been deployed to track the attackers, promising to provide verified figures as the situation unfolds. Community leaders, however, have maintained that the number of victims is much higher than what was initially reported by the police. They argue that many families are still missing members and that the terrain makes immediate headcount difficult. Fear and uncertainty now dominate the atmosphere as the search for the abducted residents continues. With repeated incidents of mass abductions, residents across Niger State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are pleading for decisive action to curb the rise of violent attacks, which have continued to disrupt farming activities, education, and daily life. Local security volunteers say the region requires constant surveillance and better equipment if any progress is to be made in reducing these crimes. As the community struggles to recover from this horrific experience, many Nigerians are calling for strengthened security reforms, improved intelligence gathering, and long-term strategies to end the recurring cycle of kidnappings across the region.
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández has issued a strong warning to Arsenal ahead of their upcoming Premier League encounter, describing one of Chelsea’s players as “a beast” inside Enzo Maresca’s squad. The Blues are preparing for a high-intensity clash with league leaders Arsenal this Sunday, a fixture that comes shortly after impressive Champions League outings by both London clubs. The momentum from Europe sets the stage for what promises to be an electrifying Premier League showdown. Earlier in the week, Chelsea secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Barcelona at Stamford Bridge, showcasing a confident and fluid performance that thrilled their supporters. The following night, Arsenal responded with an equally strong display, sealing a convincing 3-1 win against Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium. With both clubs entering the weekend on the back of European success, Fernández’s remarks add an extra layer of excitement to the highly anticipated fixture. His comments highlight the growing strength and determination within the Chelsea camp, especially under the guidance of manager Enzo Maresca. Fernández emphasized that the unnamed “beast” in the squad is always in high spirits, maintains a positive attitude in training, and consistently pushes himself to deliver remarkable performances. This mindset, according to Fernández, will be crucial as Chelsea aim to challenge the league leaders. Given the current form of both teams, Sunday’s encounter is shaping up to be one of the standout matches of the Premier League weekend, with Chelsea hoping their in-form star can make a decisive impact against Arsenal.
Former Manchester United legend Nicky Butt has voiced his growing concern about what he describes as the “scary and troubling” treatment of rising star Kobbie Mainoo under manager Ruben Amorim. Butt stressed that Mainoo, considered one of the brightest homegrown talents at Old Trafford, has not been given the level of support, development, and consistent involvement that a player of his quality deserves. Despite Mainoo’s impressive performances and his growing reputation as one of the Premier League’s most exciting young midfielders, Butt regrets that the youngster continues to be sidelined and kept out of Amorim’s starting lineup. He emphasized that this situation is not only worrying for Mainoo’s progress but also damaging to Manchester United’s long-term midfield strategy. According to Butt, the club must protect exceptional youngsters like Mainoo by giving them structured playing time, mentorship, and clear tactical roles. He noted that failing to properly manage a gifted academy graduate could lead to stagnation, low confidence, and dissatisfaction, which ultimately harms both the player and the team. The Manchester United icon insisted that Mainoo has shown intelligence, maturity, and technical strength far beyond his age. Therefore, seeing him repeatedly overlooked is something he considers “very alarming” and “not fitting for a player created by the club’s system.” Butt added that Old Trafford has a long tradition of trusting academy players, and ignoring that heritage could negatively impact future talents hoping to break into the first team. He called on Amorim and the coaching staff to reassess their current squad decisions and ensure that Mainoo receives the respect, attention, and regular involvement he truly merits.
Liverpool Football Club has firmly dismissed any chance of relieving their current manager, Arne Slot, of his duties this season. The club, despite growing criticism and rising tension from supporters, has made it clear that Slot will continue in his role, even as external pressure continues to mount. The Dutch tactician has come under intense scrutiny following Liverpool’s 4–1 UEFA Champions League loss to PSV Eindhoven at Anfield, a mid-week defeat that has generated widespread discussions regarding his leadership and tactical approach. The heavy loss intensified questions about the team’s stability and overall performance under his guidance. Slot, who previously managed Feyenoord before taking charge at Liverpool, is currently fighting to protect his position amid what has been described as a prolonged and troubling stretch of disappointing outcomes. The ongoing negative results have created a difficult atmosphere around the club, further fueling debates about his long-term suitability. Despite these concerns, Liverpool’s hierarchy has reaffirmed its backing for the manager. According to internal sources, the club believes that prematurely dismissing Slot would not solve the deeper issues affecting performance. Instead, they remain committed to giving him time to navigate the current challenges and stabilize the squad. The management insists that Slot’s project is still progressing, even though recent matches have not reflected the club’s expectations. With pressure continuing to rise from fans and the media, the club’s decision to maintain confidence in the manager signals a strong desire for stability during a turbulent period. As results continue to shape discussions within the football community, all eyes remain on Liverpool and Arne Slot as they attempt to correct course and regain momentum in the ongoing campaign.
