Daddy Freeze Finally Acknowledges His Friendship with Hushpuppi Popular Nigerian media personality and social media influencer Daddy Freeze has openly admitted to maintaining a friendship with convicted fraudster Ramon Abbas, widely known as Hushpuppi. Hushpuppi, a former Dubai-based socialite, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 2020 for his involvement in extensive cyber fraud and was later convicted in the United States. Before his arrest, Daddy Freeze had sparked controversy in 2019 when he uploaded a video tour of Hushpuppi’s luxurious Palazzo Versace residence in Dubai on his YouTube channel. The video, which showcased Hushpuppi’s lavish lifestyle, led to backlash from netizens, who accused Freeze of endorsing fraudulent wealth. Daddy Freeze Defends His Association with Hushpuppi In previous responses to criticism, Daddy Freeze insisted that he was unaware of Hushpuppi’s fraudulent activities and had only perceived him as an influential personality rather than a criminal. However, in a recent video shared by popular blogger Tunde Ednut, Daddy Freeze made a more candid confession about his relationship with the embattled figure. According to him, despite suspecting that Hushpuppi’s wealth might not have been legitimate, he remained friends with him because of the support he received during a difficult period in his life. “Hushpuppi has never given me money, not even a single dollar. But he gave me friendship when everyone turned their backs on me.” Daddy Freeze recalled that when he first met Hushpuppi, he was in Dubai alongside other influencers, many of whom distanced themselves from him due to his controversial #FreeTheSheeple movement, which criticized religious practices. Additionally, he shared that even the church he had attended for over a decade rejected him, leaving him isolated. “Everybody rejected me. Then, Hushpuppi sent me a message asking where I was and invited me over.” He further explained that they hung out, took pictures, and had conversations, emphasizing that Hushpuppi treated him as a friend when he had no one else. Public Reaction and Moral Dilemma Daddy Freeze acknowledged that he had his suspicions about Hushpuppi’s source of wealth but maintained that he could not turn his back on someone who stood by him. He also referenced Nigerian music star Davido’s lyrics, which emphasize loyalty: “Dey for who dey for you.” Despite his confession, many social media users remain divided on whether Daddy Freeze’s association with Hushpuppi was genuine friendship or ignorance of fraudulent wealth. Former Kaduna Governor Dumps APC, Triggers Mixed Reactions Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP)—a move that has intensified political discussions across Nigeria, particularly in the North. El-Rufai cited dissatisfaction with APC’s governance and a lack of internal democracy as reasons for his defection. However, his decision has sparked a range of reactions from political stakeholders, analysts, and opposition parties. Why Did El-Rufai Leave APC? On March 10, 2025, El-Rufai publicly announced his resignation from the APC, stating that the party had abandoned its founding principles. According to him, the ruling party had become intolerant of internal dissent and had marginalized many of its key members. The former governor also hinted at building a strong opposition coalition by engaging with influential political figures ahead of the 2027 elections. APC Responds to El-Rufai’s Defection The APC leadership dismissed El-Rufai’s exit, calling it an act of political desperation. Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary, claimed that El-Rufai’s criticisms were driven by personal grievances rather than genuine concerns about governance. Morka suggested that El-Rufai’s dissatisfaction stemmed from his failed attempt to secure a ministerial appointment under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He argued that the former governor’s defection was not based on ideological differences but rather on personal ambition. Internal Reactions in the SDP While some SDP members see El-Rufai’s entry as a boost to the party’s strength, others fear it could create instability. The SDP Youths and Supporters Coalition rejected his membership, accusing him of being an authoritarian leader who might undermine the party’s democratic structure. Additionally, Adewole Adebayo, the SDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, acknowledged El-Rufai’s political experience but raised concerns about his controversial leadership style. Criticisms From the Opposition Several political figures have criticized El-Rufai’s defection, claiming that his decision is more about political survival than genuine interest in national progress. Adnan Mukhtar Tudunwada, a former PDP state assembly aspirant, stated that El-Rufai only left APC because he had lost influence within the party. “El-Rufai did not join SDP to serve the people—he joined because he saw no future for himself in APC. He previously insisted that power must shift to the South, despite no constitutional backing for such a stance. If President Tinubu had given him a ministerial position, would he have rejected it?” Tudunwada questioned in an interview with LMSINT MEDIA. He further alleged that El-Rufai’s alliance-building efforts were more about personal gain than establishing a credible opposition. “I support a strong opposition coalition, but not the kind where everyone is rallying behind a single individual who only seeks political dominance,” he added. New Political Realignments Underway? El-Rufai’s defection has fueled speculations of a political shift in Nigeria. The SDP National Chairman, Shehu Musa Gabam, suggested that more prominent figures might soon exit APC. Among the names circulating are former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola—though Fayemi has denied any plans to leave. Concerns From Political Allies Even among his close allies, some believe that El-Rufai’s decision to leave APC was premature. Salihu Lukman, a former APC National Vice-Chairman (North West) and longtime associate of El-Rufai, argued that his defection could weaken efforts to build a united opposition front before the 2027 elections. Lukman advised that El-Rufai should have exercised patience before making such a drastic move. Conclusion: What’s Next for El-Rufai? El-Rufai’s defection to SDP remains one of the most debated political moves in Nigeria’s evolving landscape. While he presents himself as a leader championing opposition unity, critics argue that his decision is driven by political ambition rather than true democratic principles. As the 2027 elections approach, the impact of his defection on Nigeria’s political realignments will become clearer. However, whether it strengthens the opposition or merely serves his personal interests remains uncertain. Senators Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Sunday Karimi Clash Over Suspension Controversy Suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, and Kogi West Senator, Sunday Karimi, engaged in a heated war of words over her recent suspension from the Nigerian Senate. The dispute escalated as Karimi defended the decision, arguing that her conduct in the Senate justified the disciplinary action. Karimi, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisted that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension was necessary due to the controversy surrounding her actions, which he claimed had embarrassed Kogi State. He further suggested that former Governor Yahaya Bello had foreseen this issue, reinforcing concerns about her suitability for the Red Chamber. “All our advice to her fell on deaf ears. One cannot ignore the fact that Yahaya Bello saw this coming,” Karimi stated while addressing journalists. The senator further alleged that Akpoti-Uduaghan had tarnished Kogi State’s reputation and that her actions had contributed to a negative perception of the state across the country. Akpoti-Uduaghan Fires Back, Calls for Senate Drug Tests Reacting to Karimi’s remarks, Akpoti-Uduaghan dismissed his claims, stating that personal interests were influencing Senate decisions. She went further to propose periodic drug testing for senators, arguing that such measures would enhance rational decision-making within the legislature. “The NDLEA needs to conduct periodic tests on senators. That singular process will save the parliament from erratic legislative hallucinations,” she remarked through her media aide, Israel Arogbonlo. Akpoti-Uduaghan referenced previous calls by NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, for political aspirants to undergo drug screenings, emphasizing that similar tests had already been conducted for local government candidates in Kano State. She asserted that extending this policy to senators would help safeguard the integrity of legislative proceedings and ensure effective governance. Political Fallout and Implications The suspension of Akpoti-Uduaghan followed a confrontation with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, an incident that has ignited political tensions in Kogi State and beyond. The controversy has further deepened divisions within the Senate, with some lawmakers supporting disciplinary measures while others call for a review of the decision. For a broader perspective on Nigeria’s legislative reforms and governance integrity, read this analysis on legislative accountability by a leading political affairs expert. Conclusion The Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan suspension controversy underscores the ongoing political power struggle within the Nigerian Senate. While Karimi defends the disciplinary action as a necessary move to uphold legislative standards, Akpoti-Uduaghan insists that Senate reforms—including mandatory drug testing—are crucial for maintaining integrity in governance. As debates over the incident continue, Nigerians closely watch how this clash will shape the political landscape and the future of legislative conduct in the country. Rivers State Faces Another Blast Amid Ongoing State of Emergency Rivers State has witnessed yet another explosion, this time at the Soku oil facility in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area. This incident, reported on Sunday, March 24, 2025, marks the third attack on vital infrastructure in the state, just days after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a state of emergency in the region. The Soku facility, operated by Nigeria Liquefied and Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), became the latest target in what appears to be a series of disruptions affecting critical oil and gas assets in Rivers State. Authorities and Stakeholders React Despite the widespread reports, official confirmation remains scarce. The spokesperson for NLNG, Andy Odeh, had yet to respond to inquiries as of the time of reporting. Meanwhile, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, stated that the force had not yet received an official report regarding the explosion. However, the Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC-Nigeria) confirmed the incident, stating that a massive explosion and fireballs were observed from the affected area. According to the group, the fire was still burning as of Sunday, and videos captured by local youth volunteers verified the ongoing blaze. Soku Kingdom Denies Explosion, Labels It a Fire Outbreak In contrast to these claims, the Soku Kingdom leadership has dismissed reports of an explosion, insisting that the event was a fire outbreak rather than a detonation. According to Witness Alasia, General Secretary of Soku Kingdom, the incident occurred along the Soku-Abua-Rumuji right of way, but the Soku Gas Plant remains unaffected. “On behalf of the leadership of the Soku Kingdom, I debunk the misinformation circulating on social media. There was no explosion at the Soku Gas Plant,” Alasia stated.“It is disheartening to see misleading and unverified reports being spread. The Soku community and its satellite areas remain calm and safe.” A Series of Explosions in Rivers State This latest explosion comes just days after a blast at the Trans Niger Pipeline, affecting the Bodo, Gokana, and Omwawriwa communities in the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area. Similarly, on March 19, 2025, a fire broke out at the Port Harcourt refinery, further raising concerns over the safety of key energy infrastructure in the region. Political Tensions and Emergency Measures These incidents unfold amid the state of emergency declared by President Tinubu on March 18, 2025, which led to the suspension of elected authorities in Rivers State. On Thursday, March 21, 2025, the National Assembly approved the emergency declaration, solidifying the federal government’s control over the state’s administration. Following the approval, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.) assumed office as the sole administrator of Rivers State, replacing the democratically elected leadership. What Lies Ahead? As authorities continue to assess the situation, questions remain regarding the root causes of these recurring explosions and the overall security of oil and gas infrastructure in Nigeria’s Niger Delta region. NBA Calls for Governor Fubara’s Reinstatement, Labels His Removal Unconstitutional The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has once again urged President Bola Tinubu to immediately reinstate Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the legitimate leader of Rivers State. The association maintains that Fubara’s removal is a violation of the Nigerian Constitution. Tinubu’s Declaration Sparks Controversy Last Tuesday, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, followed by the controversial suspension of the governor, his deputy, and all House of Assembly members due to the ongoing political unrest in the oil-rich region. In an unprecedented move, Ibok-Ete Ibas, a retired naval chief, was appointed as the sole administrator of the state, a decision widely criticized as unconstitutional. The NBA swiftly responded, asserting that the President lacks the legal authority to suspend democratically elected officials. NBA: Constitution Does Not Recognize a Sole Administrator Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Afam Osigwe, the NBA President, reinforced the association’s stance, emphasizing that Fubara must be restored to office. “The Constitution does not recognize a sole administrator. We expect the President to restore Fubara back to power, as his removal was unconstitutional,” Osigwe stated. Osigwe also questioned the legitimacy of the newly appointed sole administrator, arguing that the oath of office taken by Ibok-Ete Ibas has no constitutional basis. Legal Experts Condemn Tinubu’s Actions as Excessive and Undemocratic The NBA president further criticized the measures taken to resolve the Rivers State crisis, describing them as overreaching, excessive, undemocratic, and unconstitutional. He likened the approach to using a sledgehammer for a headache, stating that the political crisis requires a political solution rather than forceful intervention. Additionally, Osigwe dismissed the National Assembly’s approval of the President’s actions, arguing that it does not provide legal justification. “The National Assembly’s approval is like placing something on nothing. It does not legitimize the President’s decision,” he added. Conclusion: A Call for Constitutional Adherence As tensions continue to escalate in Rivers State, legal experts and political analysts are closely monitoring the situation. The NBA’s firm stance highlights the growing concerns over executive overreach and the need to uphold constitutional democracy. How Cities Are Turning Roundabouts into Green Goldmines Have you ever sat at a traffic circle and wondered, “Why is this space just grass and flowers?” Imagine if, instead, it was filled with fresh basil, juicy tomatoes, or crisp lettuce. That’s exactly what some cities are doing—turning underused traffic islands into thriving mini-farms. The Green Revolution in the Middle of the Road Urban areas are running out of space for community gardens, but there’s an overlooked solution: traffic circles and medians. With a bit of planning, these road islands can transform into productive food sources, offering fresh produce to local residents, reducing urban heat, and even improving air quality. A case study that stands out is the city of Andernach, Germany, known for its “edible city” project. The local government converted public spaces—including roundabouts—into lush vegetable gardens. Locals can harvest what they need, and the initiative has inspired similar projects worldwide. Why Traffic Circle Gardens Make Sense What Can Grow in a Traffic Circle Garden? Not every crop works in a roundabout, but plenty do. The best options include: Challenges and How Cities Overcome Them Of course, it’s not as simple as tossing seeds into a roundabout. Urban waste doesn’t have to be a problem—it can be a solution. Instead of letting food scraps, coffee grounds, and shredded paper clog up landfills, why not turn them into nutrient-rich compost? Waste-powered gardening is the key to growing healthier plants while reducing environmental impact. Why Composting Matters According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), food scraps and yard waste make up more than 30% of what we throw away—all of which could be composted instead. Composting enriches soil, retains moisture, reduces plant diseases, and eliminates the need for chemical fertilizers. Benefits of Waste-Powered Gardening ✔ Reduces landfill waste – Less trash means a cleaner environment.✔ Enriches soil – Compost improves soil texture, aeration, and nutrient content.✔ Saves money – No need for expensive store-bought fertilizers.✔ Cuts methane emissions – Organic waste in landfills generates methane, a potent greenhouse gas.✔ Boosts plant health – Compost provides essential nutrients for plants to thrive. What Urban Waste Can You Compost? Many household waste items can be repurposed into garden gold. Here’s a quick breakdown: Green Waste (Rich in Nitrogen) Brown Waste (Rich in Carbon) Avoid: Meat, dairy, oils, and pet waste—these attract pests and take longer to decompose. How to Turn Trash into Treasure: Composting Methods There are different ways to compost urban waste, depending on your space and lifestyle. 1. Traditional Composting (Best for Backyards) Create a compost pile or use a bin to decompose organic matter. Layer green and brown waste, keep the pile moist, and turn it every few weeks to aerate. Expect rich compost in about 2-3 months. 2. Bokashi Composting (Great for Small Spaces) A Japanese method using beneficial microbes to ferment food waste. Simply layer scraps with bokashi bran in an airtight bucket. After two weeks, bury the pre-compost in soil to complete decomposition. 3. Vermicomposting (Perfect for Apartments) Worms (like red wigglers) break down organic matter into nutrient-rich worm castings. Keep a worm bin under your sink or in a shaded spot—just feed them food scraps, and they do the rest! Pro Composting Tips How Long Until You Get Usable Compost? Where to Use Your Compost Final Thoughts By converting urban waste into nutrient-rich soil, you’re not just gardening—you’re reducing waste, lowering your carbon footprint, and improving soil health. Start composting today and watch your garden flourish! For more composting techniques, check out the EPA’s guide to composting. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14). Our opening scripture talks about the natural man. Who is the natural man? The natural man is the ordinary, everyday person who has never been born again. He may have grown up in a good neighbourhood and lived a decent life, but he remains disconnected from the life of God. The natural man has never been awakened to the Fatherhood of God. Ephesians 4:18 says, “Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.” The natural man is someone whose only experience is his natural birth and who has grown up purely natural. As the Bible says, “…the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). It brings to mind an incident from years ago involving the former Vice Chancellor of a certain University who suddenly collapsed at the airport, and, as it happened, the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa was nearby. According to newspaper reports the next day, they described that “audible sounds” from the Archbishop revived the Vice Chancellor. The press didn’t understand what had happened, so they called it “audible sounds.” What actually happened was that Archbishop Idahosa spoke in tongues loudly. The journalists, being unfamiliar with the spiritual context, could only describe it as “audible sounds.” But the man of God knew exactly what to do at that critical moment. He released what the natural man couldn’t understand and the hitherto incapacitated Vice Chancellor was revived! The things of God require spiritual discernment, but the natural man cannot discern them. They seem absurd or meaningless to him, being disconnected from the realities of God and the life of the Spirit. It’s the reason we keep preaching the Gospel. God wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). So, we must help them know the Lord. It doesn’t matter that the man or woman is an erudite professor, a great scientist, a skilled orator, a seasoned politician, or a medical doctor; as long as they’re not born again, they’re living the natural human life. And Jesus said, “…Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). So help those around you, who have never been born again, to know the Lord and bring them into salvation. Hallelujah PRAYERDear Father, I thank you for the blessing of the New Birth that makes me a spiritual man. I walk in the light of your Word and live by the discernment of the Spirit. Dan Orbih Defends Wike’s National Service Amidst PDP Crisis Chief Dan Orbih, the re-elected national vice-chairman (South-South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has clarified the political stance of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Addressing the controversy surrounding Wike’s role in the APC-led government, Orbih emphasized that Wike’s appointment serves Nigeria rather than partisan interests. Legitimacy of South-South PDP Zonal Congress Orbih reaffirmed that his election followed due constitutional processes, dismissing concerns raised by some party leaders. He acknowledged the support of delegates and vowed to strengthen the party’s presence in the region. He also pointed out that PDP governors do not need to approve every congress for it to be valid, referencing a previous election in Port Harcourt where not all governors were present. Clarification on PDP Leadership’s Stance Responding to claims that the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) opposed the South-South congress, Orbih denied any internal discussions against it. He also noted that statements issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary were unsigned, suggesting internal political maneuvering rather than official opposition. Wike’s Appointment: A Call to National Duty Orbih dismissed allegations that his closeness to Wike fueled the party’s resistance to his position. He asserted that Wike sought approval from all key PDP structures before accepting the ministerial role. Despite misconceptions, PDP stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees and Governors’ Forum, did not object to his participation in the federal government. Challenges Within PDP and the Edo Political Landscape Addressing internal party turmoil, Orbih criticized PDP leaders for neglecting pressing party issues while focusing on political disputes. He pointed out that former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki inherited a united PDP but left it deeply fragmented. Recounting past interactions, he mentioned a critical meeting where Governor Bala Mohammed acknowledged Obaseki’s failures but still supported his leadership due to party loyalty. According to Orbih, such political compromises weakened the PDP’s internal structure. Final Thoughts: The Future of PDP Orbih expressed concerns over the PDP’s failure to actively resolve crises, particularly in Rivers State. He called for genuine leadership efforts to rebuild the party rather than engaging in distractions. The party must focus on mobilization and structural reforms to regain political strength. Read More on Nigerian Political Affairs With internal party disputes escalating, the trajectory of the PDP remains uncertain. However, Orbih’s insights shed light on the political dynamics shaping the party’s future. Stay tuned for more updates on Nigeria’s evolving political landscape. The political landscape in Nigeria is already heating up ahead of the 2027 presidential elections. Just two years after securing a major victory in Rivers State during the 2023 presidential race, President Bola Tinubu’s camp has allegedly begun strategic moves for the next election cycle, according to opposition claims. The Controversial State of Emergency At the heart of this political maneuvering is the imposition of a state of emergency and the subsequent suspension of Governor Simi Fubara. Critics argue that this move is designed to strengthen Tinubu’s position ahead of 2027. However, insiders within the president’s camp counter this narrative, alleging that Fubara was funding opposition efforts against Tinubu’s reelection bid. Regardless of which side is correct, the common denominator in this political tussle is the influence of money and power. The vast financial resources available to Rivers State, both from the Federation Account and internally generated revenue, have made it a highly coveted battleground for political actors seeking to control election financing. Rivers State: A Key Player in Presidential Elections Historically, Rivers State governors have played a pivotal role in funding presidential campaigns. Former Governor Peter Odili was a dominant force in the 2007 presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with his influence spanning nationwide before political forces, including then-President Olusegun Obasanjo, curtailed his ambitions. Similarly, ex-Governor Rotimi Amaechi, after completing his tenure, allegedly provided substantial support to General Muhammadu Buhari, who later emerged as president. His successor, Nyesom Wike, attempted to secure the PDP ticket but was blocked by the alliance between then-Governor Aminu Tambuwal and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Following his loss, Wike played a significant role in backing Bola Tinubu, contributing to his eventual victory. 2027 Elections and the Battle for Control As the 2027 elections approach, political strategists have turned their attention to Rivers State, recognizing its crucial role in election financing. Despite being a PDP member, Governor Fubara had, on multiple occasions, expressed support for Tinubu’s second-term bid. However, his fallout with Wike raised suspicions about his true political allegiance. These suspicions escalated when intelligence reports allegedly linked Fubara to opposition movements against Tinubu’s reelection campaign. While Atiku Abubakar’s camp denied any involvement, the growing concerns led to drastic measures against Fubara. Justification for the State of Emergency President Tinubu defended the imposition of a state of emergency by accusing Fubara of associating with militants and radical elements who had become vocal supporters of his administration. This move followed two bomb explosions in Rivers State, which heightened security concerns. Political Intrigues Behind the Decision Reports indicate that discussions about declaring a state of emergency had been ongoing among select presidential aides and associates of a powerful minister with vested interests in Rivers State. The decision was not made lightly, as many within the administration were aware of the challenges it posed, especially given Tinubu’s previous opposition to emergency rule when President Goodluck Jonathan declared one in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states. Despite these challenges, those intent on removing Fubara were determined to see their plan through, regardless of the political cost. Conclusion The unfolding drama in Rivers State underscores the high-stakes political battle shaping Nigeria’s 2027 presidential elections. With key players maneuvering for strategic advantages, the state’s political landscape remains a focal point in the national power struggle.
