Thus, the spiritual man prays first with the spirit and then with the understanding also. Sadly, many reverse this order; they pray predominantly with their understanding and sparingly in tongues. That’s not going to work. Recall what we read in our opening scripture; it means there’re different kinds or forms of prayer. However, irrespective or alongside all these various types of prayers, you should pray in the Spirit, that is, pray in other tongues. Think of this like a doctor’s prescription that says, “Take these tablets with every meal.” Now, breakfast, lunch and dinner are different meals, yet the tablets are a constant addition to each. Similarly, God says, with all types of prayer—be it the prayer of intercession, prayer of faith, prayer of worship, etc.—pray in the Spirit. Speak in tongues. The apostle Paul sheds light on this in 1 Corinthians 14:14-15: “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also….” 1 Corinthians 14:2 says, “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” Make this a priority in your life. Cultivate the habit of praying in tongues every day, and you’ll experience extraordinary victories in your life. The Kwara State Police Command has officially confirmed the kidnapping of several individuals in Eleyinla village, near Isanlu-Isin, located within the Kwara South Senatorial District. The incident occurred at approximately 5:45 PM on Friday, April 25, 2025, when unidentified armed men intercepted two private vehicles in Eleyinla and forcefully took their occupants to an unknown destination. According to LMSINT MEDIA, this is the third abduction incident recorded in the region within a week. Previously, numerous travelers were kidnapped along the Ilofa-Omu Aran highway, and another group of seven passengers, including a bus driver operating under the Olumoh Express Transport Company, were abducted around the Obbo Ayegunle axis of Kwara South. In an official statement released in Ilorin, the spokesperson for the police command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, disclosed that around five armed men orchestrated the Friday attack, blocking the highway and abducting passengers. Thanks to a prompt response coordinated between the police, military forces, and local vigilante groups, two of the abducted victims, identified as Ganiyu Ajayi and Kolawole Adeyemi, were successfully rescued. Efforts remain underway to locate and safely recover the remaining five individuals still held captive. The Kwara State Police Command has intensified its operations across the affected region, employing aggressive bush combing, coordinated patrols, and intelligence-led security strategies to curb further criminal activities. Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain committed and undistracted as his administration continues to deliver good governance and the dividends of democracy across the state.
