In the previous study, we reviewed the importance of complete evangelism. When you lead someone to Christ, you should keep track of their journey in Christ. Two years later, for example, you should still remember them and keep praying for them. Consider keeping a diary of the people you lead to Christ, and you’ll be amazed at how long that list will become over time. As you lead people to Christ, encourage them to do the same. Tell them, “When you lead someone to Christ, let me know. You can send me their names and addresses. I’ll be praying for them.” As your list grows, take time to bow your knees before the Father and pray for everyone on your list. The Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, said in Galatians 4:19, “My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you.” Pray like this for those whose names are on your list. Be strategic with your intercession for them, that they be established in the faith, doing the will of the Father, active in the work of the ministry, and bringing glory to God always. Pray also for other new converts whom the Lord has added to the church, that they be established in the Word, firmly rooted and grounded in the faith, and that the Lord is perfecting His work in their lives for His glory. Pray for them to be more and more passionate, committed and fearless labourers of the end-time harvest, and that through them, more souls receive the Gospel gladly and are converted to the Kingdom. In John 17:12, Jesus said, “…those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost….” This should always be your testimony concerning all those you lead to Christ or those whom the Lord adds to your local assembly through your evangelical efforts. Remember that evangelism has to be a conscious effort. It must be a sincere and personal ministry; it’s not a one-time event. It is a continuous, deliberate effort to bring others into God’s Kingdom and follow them up until they’re nurtured and grounded in the Faith. A global police effort led by INTERPOL has revealed a major stolen vehicle operation across West Africa, with numerous stolen cars, including several traced back to Canada, found in Nigeria. The operation, named “Safe Wheels,” involved law enforcement agencies across 12 West African countries and resulted in the identification of approximately 150 stolen vehicles. Among these, more than 75 were seized, including several located in Lagos, Nigeria. According to an official INTERPOL statement, the discovery was made possible through its Stolen Motor Vehicle (SMV) database, which plays a critical role in the global fight against vehicle theft. Vehicles were traced primarily from Canada, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. In 2024 alone, the database flagged over 270,000 stolen vehicles worldwide, offering law enforcement agencies across INTERPOL’s 196 member nations the ability to verify suspicious vehicles. Over a two-week period, police forces across West Africa inspected 12,600 vehicles. Popular vehicle brands found stolen included Toyota, Peugeot, and Honda. Traffickers moved these vehicles by both land and sea routes, with Nigeria being a key hub for shipping. Authorities from countries including Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, and Togo took part in the large-scale inspection operation. In Lagos, officers from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) found six smuggled vehicles inside freight containers, four of which bore visible signs of forced entry. The vehicles, including Toyota and Lexus models, were verified by the SMV database as having been stolen in Canada earlier in 2024. Investigations into the shipment are ongoing and involve collaboration between the NCS and Canada’s INTERPOL National Central Bureau. David Caunter, INTERPOL’s Director of Organized and Emerging Crime, emphasized the importance of the SMV platform. He described it as a vital tool for tracking stolen vehicles and exposing the organized networks behind their smuggling. The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has scheduled May 29, 2025, as the new hearing date for a legal case brought by vulnerable residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)—including street scavengers, beggars, and small-scale traders—against the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, and several federal agencies. Justice James Omotosho presided over the case and approved an adjournment following a request made by the plaintiffs’ counsel, Adamu Mahmood. Mahmood sought additional time to file a supplementary affidavit in response to a counter-affidavit recently submitted by one of the defendants. The plaintiffs, who represent a marginalized population in Abuja, are pursuing N500 million in compensation. They argue that their constitutional rights were infringed upon due to alleged unlawful treatment by the authorities. According to a report from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) had previously filed a counter-affidavit on April 15, 2025. The document, sworn by an officer named Goodness Akomolafe, categorically rejected all claims made by the plaintiffs. The NSCDC maintained that no infringement on fundamental human rights occurred in any of their enforcement actions. Similarly, the Department of State Services (DSS)—another party to the case—also rejected the allegations. The DSS requested the court to dismiss the lawsuit on the grounds that the accusations are baseless. The original legal motion, referenced as FHC/ABJ/CS/1749/3024, was filed by legal practitioner Abba Hikima. Representing the collective interests of the vulnerable residents, Hikima filed the motion on November 20, 2024, a day after it was dated. The lawsuit targets six respondents: Minister Nyesom Wike, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, the Director-General of DSS, and the Commandant-General of NSCDC, as the 1st through 4th respondents. The Attorney-General of the Federation and the Federal Government of Nigeria are also listed as the 5th and 6th respondents. Hikima is advocating for an order from the court that would compel these government institutions to pay ₦500 million in general and exemplary damages. The compensation is intended to address the purported infringement of the basic rights of economically disadvantaged individuals found on the streets of Abuja.
