Rhapsody of Realities May 23rd 2025, PRAY FOR LEADERS AT EVERY LEVEL

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Many desire a quiet and peaceable life; yet, they neglect the action the Lord says would cause it to happen. The Word of God is clear on what we must do to make our nations the haven of peace and prosperity that God ordained them to be: we are to pray for all men, including leaders at every level or position of authority. Therefore, make it a culture, every day, to pray for your president and all those who work with him; pray for the governors. In your state, city, or community, pray for the leaders at every level and for those who work with them. Pray for the community heads, the judges, the leaders of the police and the armed forces, the heads of the different institutions and parastatals in your nation. When you pray for them like this, the prosperity in your nation will blossom and the people will profit from the good that’s in the land. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 1:19, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” There’s more wealth in your nation than you can imagine, but the onus is on God’s people to do the needful; act on the Word. Pray for your nation and its leaders as God has instructed. The solution is not in protesting or bringing down the government. Even if you removed a leader and replaced him or her with another, it wouldn’t change the root issue. The real solution is in prayer—praying according to this pattern, which Paul outlined by the Spirit: supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all men, and for all in authority or positions of leadership. Even now, take the next few minutes to pray for those in authority in the nation where you live, work, or do business. Create the conditions for a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty in your nation through your heartfelt prayers as directed by the Spirit. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the privilege and responsibility of prayer. I pray for all the categories of leaders in my nation and around the world, that their hearts are mantled by your wisdom and influenced by your righteousness. Those that work with them, including the systems and structures they put in place, all align with your perfect will for the Gospel to prevail in every nation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY1 Timothy 2:1-4 NIVI urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Jeremiah 29:7And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. CBN Issues Draft Standards for Automated Anti-Money Laundering Technologies

In a strategic move to bolster real-time surveillance of suspicious financial activities, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has unveiled a draft framework titled “Baseline Standards for Automated Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Solutions“. This initiative aims to support financial institutions in adopting cutting-edge technology that improves the identification and reporting of suspicious transactions. The draft was disclosed in a letter addressed to all financial institutions and signed by Dr. Olubukola Akinwunmi, Director of Banking Supervision at the CBN. The apex bank is currently seeking feedback and suggestions from industry stakeholders before finalizing the document. According to the letter, the CBN remains firmly dedicated to safeguarding the resilience and trustworthiness of Nigeria’s banking infrastructure. In response to the rapid digitization and the growing presence of innovative financial tools, the bank developed this new set of standards to promote compliance and operational efficiency in tackling money laundering, terrorism financing, and the financing of proliferation (AML/CFT/CPF). These standards were informed by an in-depth evaluation of existing anti-money laundering systems in the financial sector. The framework aligns with global standards, including recommendations from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)—a leading international body dedicated to combating financial crimes. Key objectives of the standards include: The draft, which has been circulated for industry input, proposes a system-wide adoption of AI-powered tools to monitor and analyze financial behaviors in real time. According to the CBN, these solutions are intended to establish consistency, reliability, and strict compliance throughout the Nigerian financial system. In section 4.1 of the draft, the document outlines mandatory features for AML systems, including risk profiling, screening for politically exposed persons (PEPs), identification and verification protocols, transaction monitoring, and automated regulatory reporting. Regarding the timeline for implementation, the CBN specified that all financial institutions are expected to align their AML solutions with the proposed standards within 12 months following official issuance. Additionally, the CBN will carry out periodic audits and industry assessments to ensure thorough compliance. Institutions must also offer ongoing training programs for their AML teams, with a focus on system operation and evolving risk factors.

Dangote Refinery Reduces Petrol Price by ₦15 Per Litre Nationwide

The Dangote Refinery has implemented a fresh reduction in the cost of premium motor spirit (PMS), popularly referred to as petrol, lowering the pump price by ₦15 per litre across several regions in Nigeria. In an official announcement made yesterday, the company disclosed that, following this adjustment, petrol prices now stand at ₦875 per litre in Lagos, down from the previous ₦890. In the South West, the revised cost is ₦885 per litre, while in both the North West and North Central regions, the product now sells at ₦895 per litre. For consumers in the South East, South South, and North East, the price has been pegged at ₦905 per litre. This pricing update will be effective through the refinery’s distribution affiliates, which include MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, Ardova Plc (AP), Heyden Petroleum, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy. Dangote Refinery has also extended an invitation to other fuel marketers to join its growing network, aligning with the federal government’s “Nigeria First” initiative, which emphasizes the preference for domestically manufactured products and services. Since initiating operations, Dangote Refinery has pursued multiple cost-cutting measures designed to ease the economic burden on Nigerian citizens. Notably, in February 2025, the company executed two separate reductions, totaling ₦125 per litre. This was followed by an additional cut of approximately ₦45 per litre in April 2025, further contributing to consumer relief.

Tinubu Declares APC Economic Policies Are Delivering Results, Not a Failure

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asserted that the economic initiatives introduced by his government are producing positive outcomes. Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit held at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja on Thursday, the President emphasized that the APC-led administration has not failed Nigerians. “Two years ago, we began this journey driven by a strong belief in Nigeria’s future and a collective commitment to resolve our national challenges,” he stated. “We vowed to rebuild trust and promote prosperity across the nation.” He continued by noting, “I am proud to declare that our economic reforms are yielding results. Positive transformation is never easy. The fuel subsidy is removed, and it was removed for the benefit of Nigeria.” President Tinubu highlighted that since taking office in May 2023, he launched comprehensive economic reforms aimed at stabilizing and improving the country’s financial structure. These reforms, he noted, were backed by the federal government and international financial bodies as essential to correct Nigeria’s fiscal imbalances. Some of these strategic measures include the deregulation of the naira and the elimination of petrol subsidies. However, they have significantly impacted many Nigerians, who now face a severe cost-of-living crisis not seen in recent times. Reports from the World Bank have shown that years of escalating inflation and stagnant economic growth have increased the number of Nigerians living in poverty, with nearly 50% of the population affected by 2024. Similarly, a recent statement from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) acknowledged that although the reforms were vital, their benefits are yet to be felt by the average citizen.

Edo State Police Apprehend Driver of Governor’s Adviser for Alleged Sexual Assault on Teenager

The Edo State Police Command has taken into custody a driver employed by a Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, in connection with an alleged sexual assault case involving the 15-year-old daughter of the adviser. According to LMSINT MEDIA, the arrest was verified by the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, during a briefing with journalists on Thursday in Benin City. The accused, Mohammed Ihuenuma, aged 50, was apprehended following a formal complaint, and the investigation into the incident is currently underway. Yamu emphasized that the suspect will be formally charged upon the completion of the investigation. He urged members of the public to promptly report incidents of rape, defilement, or other indecent acts to law enforcement authorities to ensure swift action and justice. Yamu reiterated the stance of the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), stating that the Commissioner has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of GBV. Information gathered by LMSINT MEDIA reveals that the arrest stemmed from a report filed by the father of the victim, who acted after being informed by the girl’s mother. The alleged perpetrator, who routinely visited the family’s residence for errands, reportedly used those opportunities to behave inappropriately towards the girl. Sources disclosed that the suspect had repeatedly touched the teen in an indecent manner in what appeared to be attempts to entice her. Eventually, the girl confided in her mother, who brought the matter to the attention of her husband. He subsequently filed a report with the police, leading to the arrest of the driver.

Nigerian Singer Denies Involvement After Namesake’s Arrest in Ghana

Popular Nigerian artist Peter Okoye, a member of the iconic music duo P-Square, has publicly distanced himself from an individual sharing his name who was recently arrested in Ghana. A widely circulated video on social media platforms showed Ghanaian authorities apprehending a man named Peter Okoye, who is reportedly 31 years old. According to reports, the man was taken into custody over serious allegations of fraud and kidnapping. Following the viral spread of the video, some online users mistakenly assumed the arrested individual was the famous singer. In response, Peter Okoye addressed the confusion through a repost on his official X account (formerly Twitter). The artist urged the public and Ghanaian police to be more precise when mentioning names in cases like this, especially when high-profile personalities are involved. In a direct and humorous Pidgin English statement, Peter Okoye wrote: “Abeg make una dey specificaly dey specify which ‘PETER OKOYE’. EPL Update: Manchester United Lowers Transfer Valuation for Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United has reportedly decided on a reduced transfer fee for winger Alejandro Garnacho, attracting attention from multiple top clubs ahead of the summer transfer window. Among the clubs keen on acquiring the young Argentine talent is Chelsea FC, signaling serious interest in boosting their attacking options. The Premier League giants appear willing to part ways with Garnacho after what has been a rocky campaign for the Red Devils. Despite delivering an impressive 11 goals and 10 assists across all competitions this season, Garnacho is one of the players on the club’s list of potential departures. United’s 2024 season has concluded without any trophies, following their narrow 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final held on Wednesday. Garnacho, a graduate of Manchester United’s youth academy, earned promotion to the first team in 2022. However, in a controversial move, he was relegated to the bench for the Europa League final in Bilbao, despite having started every knockout round prior. The winger later voiced his displeasure with head coach Ruben Amorim for the decision, igniting speculation about his future. Back in January, Garnacho was linked with a potential switch to Chelsea and Napoli, though neither transfer came to fruition. Following his outburst and amid growing tension, Amorim may now be open to letting the Argentine leave. According to The Telegraph, Manchester United is prepared to consider bids in the region of £60 million—a notable decrease from the £70 million valuation earlier reported by The Guardian in February. This reduced asking price could open the door for Garnacho’s Premier League exit, depending on how negotiations unfold in the coming weeks.

Lionel Messi Names Iconic Header Against Manchester United as His All-Time Favourite Goal

Football legend Lionel Messi, currently playing for Inter Miami, has revealed the most cherished goal of his illustrious career. The 38-year-old forward reminisced about his famous header during the 2009 UEFA Champions League final when he was a Barcelona player. Messi stated that the goal he scored against Manchester United remains his favorite among the over 800 goals he has recorded across his career. “I’ve had many goals that were arguably more beautiful and significant, but the header in the Champions League final versus Manchester United has always been my favorite,” Messi expressed. That memorable strike was Barcelona’s second goal in a 2-0 triumph over Manchester United, sealing the club’s dominance on the European stage that season. In what became one of the most celebrated goals in Champions League history, Messi out-jumped United’s defensive stalwarts Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidić, directing a header past legendary goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar. The goal not only contributed to Barcelona’s victory but also marked Messi’s first of three Champions League titles with the Spanish giants, cementing his legacy in European football.

Man United Face £80m Financial Setback After Europa League Final Loss to Tottenham

Manchester United are projected to lose a staggering £80 million due to their disappointing performance in the Premier League and failure to qualify for any European competition in the upcoming season. The Red Devils were positioned to receive a substantial £70 million reward had they secured Champions League qualification by clinching the Europa League title against Tottenham Hotspur. However, Ruben Amorim’s squad suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat in Bilbao, courtesy of a first-half goal by Brennan Johnson, handing Tottenham the victory and extinguishing United’s European hopes. As a result, Manchester United will not feature in any European competitions next season, compounding their financial woes. Last season, United collected approximately £30 million from UEFA’s broadcasting rights related to their Europa League campaign. That revenue stream will be absent in the coming year. Additionally, matchday income is expected to decline by an estimated £20 million, largely due to five fewer home games likely being held at Old Trafford. The club is also liable to pay a £10 million penalty under their current agreement with Adidas, triggered by their inability to secure Champions League qualification for the 2025–26 season. To further deepen the financial blow, finishing 16th in the Premier League means Manchester United will receive roughly £22.4 million less in prize and TV money compared to the previous season when they placed eighth.

How to Build an Online Brand That Attracts Paying Clients

The Real Meaning of “Online Branding” Let’s get this straight—branding is not just about having a logo or a fancy bio. An online brand is how people experience you online, how they remember you, and most importantly, how they trust you enough to pay for your products or services. In Nigeria, more freelancers, coaches, digital marketers, and small business owners are cashing in—not because they have the best skills—but because they’ve built brands that are magnetic to clients. This isn’t luck. It’s intentional. And with this guide, you’ll learn how to build your online brand from the ground up—in a way that consistently attracts paying clients without needing to beg, cold-DM strangers, or run ads you can’t afford. Step 1: Define Your Core Message (Why Should People Listen to You?) Before you think of colors or logos, lock down your value proposition. Ask: Let’s say you’re a fitness coach. Don’t say “I help people get fit.” Say “I help busy Nigerian professionals lose stubborn belly fat in 90 days without a gym.” This sharp positioning is how people remember and refer you. HubSpot breaks down how powerful brands differentiate with unique selling points. Pro Tip: Use your Instagram or LinkedIn bio to clearly state this message. Don’t leave people guessing. Step 2: Own Your Digital Real Estate A strong brand owns its corner of the internet. You need: This builds instant trust. Nigerian clients want to know you’re serious—and nothing says professional like showing up with your own branded space. Step 3: Create Value-Driven Content (Show, Don’t Just Tell) People pay attention when you solve problems. That’s why content is currency in the online branding world. Focus on content that: Example:If you’re a digital marketing expert, create a free checklist like: “5 Ways Nigerian Small Businesses Can Get Leads Without Ads.” This builds credibility fast. You can share this on: Step 4: Build a Simple Funnel That Converts No brand survives without a conversion path. You don’t just post and hope for the best. Set up this basic funnel: Use free tools like: Read this full guide on how Nigerians make money through email marketing lists Step 5: Show Social Proof Like a Pro Nigerians love receipts. You need to show: If you’re just starting, offer a few people a free trial in exchange for a testimonial. This works like magic, especially on social media. Real Proof Beats Fancy Graphics. Step 6: Network with Strategy It’s not just what you know—it’s who sees you. Build a network around: The key is to give before asking. Support others, share their work, and comment intelligently. That way, when you pitch, they actually listen. Step 7: Package & Price Your Offer the Right Way Clarity is money. If people have to guess what they’re paying for, they won’t buy. Your service should include: Use Canva or Notion to design a one-pager offer doc you can DM or email clients. Bonus: Stay Consistent & Authentic People follow people. Your brand should reflect who you really are—not some internet version. Be consistent with: The more consistent you are, the more trust you build. And trust = payment. Final Words You don’t need to be famous to attract paying clients online in Nigeria. You just need to be visible, valuable, and credible. Branding is not a one-time event—it’s an ongoing process of showing up with clarity and consistency. When done right, your brand becomes your biggest asset. Clients start chasing you—instead of you chasing them. Read Also:

Peter Obi Refutes Claims of Secret Rome Meeting with President Tinubu Over Fidelity Bank’s ₦225 Billion Debt

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has publicly dismissed allegations suggesting he visited Rome to meet President Bola Tinubu regarding an alleged ₦225 billion debt connected to Fidelity Bank. Obi addressed the matter in a statement released on Thursday, labeling the story as part of an ongoing smear campaign orchestrated to tarnish his public image. “Clearly, blackmailing Peter Obi from every negative angle seems to have become a booming business for some,” Obi said. “Even my private spiritual journey to Rome has now been manipulated and weaponized into a fresh round of blackmail by hired agents intent on spinning false narratives.” A recent news publication had claimed that Obi met Tinubu secretly in Rome to request intervention in a supposed financial controversy surrounding Fidelity Bank, a financial institution where Obi once held a position on the board. However, Obi — who previously served as the Governor of Anambra State — strongly denied ever organizing or attending any closed-door discussions with the president concerning the bank. “Since President Tinubu assumed office, I have never sought a meeting with him, nor have I engaged in any private conversation,” he clarified. “The only interaction I’ve had with him was a brief one-minute encounter at the Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome during the inauguration Mass of Pope Leo XIV. I was seated behind him and extended a courteous greeting, as did other attendees.” Obi further responded to allegations concerning his association with Fidelity Bank, emphasizing that he does not own the institution. “The self-declared ‘blackmailer-in-chief’ and other purveyors of lies have gone on to claim that I own Fidelity Bank. Let it be known — I do not,” Obi declared. “Throughout my professional life, I have served as Chairman or Director for three financial institutions, Fidelity being one of them. The bank is jointly owned by more than 500,000 Nigerians — none of whom possess a majority stake. The goal of this blackmail seems to be to inflict distress on these hard-working citizens.”

Missing Sokoto Government Critic, Hamdiyya Sidi, Located at Zamfara Hospital in Critical State

Human rights advocate, Hamdiyya Sidi Sharif, who was declared missing earlier in the week, has now been discovered in a critical medical state at Bakura Hospital in Zamfara State. According to a post shared on Facebook by her legal representative, Barrister Abba Hikima, she is now in the custody of security operatives who are closely monitoring her condition. Barrister Hikima stressed that the physical and emotional state in which Hamdiyya was discovered suggests she was abducted, rather than missing voluntarily. Reports indicate that Hamdiyya was last seen when she stepped out to purchase food items within Sokoto town. After that, all attempts to locate her were unsuccessful until the recent discovery in Zamfara. In response to this alarming situation, her lawyer has urged the Zamfara State government and relevant security authorities to prioritize her protection and to launch an in-depth investigation into the incident. This unsettling event unfolds at a time when insecurity remains a major concern across Northwestern Nigeria, with rising cases of abductions and violence.

Rhapsody of Realities May 22nd 2025, LIVE ABOVE HUMAN LIMITATIONS AND MIND-SETS

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48). In Christ Jesus, we’ve been called to a life of perfection, victory and glory. Yet, there’re those who knowingly or unknowingly resist this truth by holding on to human limitations. They often say, “We are all human,” or “Nobody is perfect.” They use these statements to justify living below the divine life we’ve been called to in Christ. When people say “We’re all humans,” they forget the transformation that took place when we were born again. The Bible declares, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). As new creatures in Christ, we’re not merely human—we’re born of God, partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). The other common phrase “Nobody is perfect” also contradicts the Scriptures. The Lord Jesus unequivocally stated in our opening verse, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Perfection means to be full-grown in maturity, blameless, unspotted, wanting nothing; a completeness. Then you have another common generalization which is “We all make mistakes,” as though living beyond mistakes is inevitable. But the Word of God teaches us differently. The Bible says, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God” (1 John 3:9). The seed of God—the life and nature of God—is in you, empowering you to live above error and walk in righteousness. It’s about your knowledge and understanding of Christ and His Gospel. It’ll put you above every limitation to live the glorious life He has given you. Many are hindered by negative beliefs and traditions handed down by those who don’t know the truth. But you must look to the Word and refuse to live by these limiting mind-sets. The life in Christ is one of excellence, righteousness, victory, and dominion over sin, Satan and circumstances. The life of Christ in you is a perfect life, and it’s your responsibility to walk in its reality. Refuse to accept mediocrity or failure. Look to the Word, believe it, and live by it. Hallelujah! CONFESSIONI am not a mere human; I am born of God, a partaker of His divine nature, incorruptible and impregnable. I live the life of righteousness, perfection and glory in Christ. I refuse to accept human limitations, for I am empowered by the Spirit to live the victorious life. Hallelujah! FURTHER STUDYRomans 12:2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 8:29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 1 John 3:2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
