In a recent milestone for Nigerian gospel music, the acclaimed singer Shola Allyson has officially joined Sony Music Publishing Nigeria.
The announcement was made public via a post on Sony Music Publishing’s verified Instagram handle on Friday evening. The statement read:
“We are thrilled to welcome the legendary Shola Allyson to the SMP (Sony Music Publishing) family.”
Echoing this exciting development, Shola Allyson also shared a video on her Instagram page where she expressed her enthusiasm about the new phase of her music career. In her words:
“Hello everyone, I’m Shola Allyson. I feel so excited, thankful, happy, and filled with every good emotion to inform you of my recent signing with Sony Music Publishing Nigeria.”
She added that this partnership marks the beginning of more significant ventures, saying:

This notable signing follows closely on the heels of Sony Music Nigeria’s recent addition of Bright Chimezie, an iconic highlife legend, who also joined their publishing division just a week earlier.
