Tottenham Hotspur’s captain, Son Heung-Min, has revealed who he considers to be the greatest winger in football history. The South Korean international, during a recent session with GOAL Fan Zone, selected his top choice from a pool of eight elite wingers.
Surprisingly, Son bypassed legendary names like Ronaldinho, Neymar, and Eden Hazard, ultimately naming Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as the best winger of all time.
Son Heung-Min’s Selection Process
Son’s decision-making process involved comparing some of the most iconic wingers in football history. He was first given the choice between Neymar and Gareth Bale, and he opted for Neymar, explaining:
“When you look at the whole package of the seasons, the whole career, I would say Neymar.”
He then proceeded to choose Eden Hazard over Arjen Robben and later selected Ronaldinho over David Beckham. However, when it came to a showdown between Mohamed Salah and Ronaldinho, the Spurs captain went with the Egyptian international. In the final decision, Salah once again triumphed over Neymar in Son’s ranking.
