Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that certain members of his current squad will be leaving the club before the end of the ongoing summer transfer window.
Speaking to the media after Arsenal’s commanding 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in their final pre-season fixture, Arteta explained that while the team has made significant signings to strengthen key positions, there are also plans for player departures to balance the squad.
England international Bukayo Saka doubled the lead before halftime, finishing with precision after a well-worked attacking move. In the second half, German international Kai Havertz came off the bench to score the third goal, sealing an emphatic win for Arsenal and wrapping up their pre-season campaign in style.
This summer, Arsenal has been particularly active in the transfer market. Alongside Gyökeres, the North London club has welcomed Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Cristhian Mosquera—all of whom are expected to provide competition and depth in various positions.
However, Arteta made it clear that the reshaping of the squad is not yet complete.
His comments suggest that the coming weeks could see further transfer activity, with some players heading for the exit door while others may still arrive. With the Premier League season fast approaching, Arteta appears determined to fine-tune his squad for the challenges ahead.
