In a tragic road incident in Yobe State, at least six individuals lost their lives, and nine others sustained varying degrees of injuries following a collision that occurred near Damagum Bus Stop in the Fune Local Government Area on Sunday.
An eyewitness, Abubakar Jajere, reported that the accident involved an 18-seater commercial bus. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle after striking a roadside pedestrian brick, which led to the horrific crash.
Emergency responders from the Yobe State Emergency Medical Ambulance Services (YEMABUS) arrived promptly at the scene, providing urgent medical aid. The deceased and injured victims were initially transported to General Hospital Damagum and later referred to the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital in Damaturu, located approximately 60 kilometers from the crash site.
