Nasarawa Amazons midfielder Rukayat Shobowale has called on her teammates to maintain full concentration as they prepare for the high-stakes NWFL Super Six playoffs, the defining phase of the 2024 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.
The Amazons secured their place in the prestigious end-of-season tournament after a narrow but significant 1-0 victory over reigning champions Edo Queens, a result that highlighted their resilience and determination.
Alongside Nasarawa Amazons, Remo Stars Ladies, Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, and Rivers Angels have all confirmed their qualification for the NWFL Super Six playoff series.
Meanwhile, the battle for the final slot continues between Naija Ratels and Robo Queens, who are set to clash in a must-win encounter on the final matchday of the regular season.
Sharing her excitement and confidence on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Shobowale said:
“Finally, we (Nasarawa Amazons) qualified to the NWFL Premiership Super Six with a trademark win against Edo Queens. Time to shift focus to the ultimate league winner decider.”
The Nasarawa Amazons will next face Heartland Queens in what promises to be a thrilling encounter in Owerri, as they continue their pursuit of NWFL glory.
