Key Highlights of Vice President Shettima’s Agenda

Bilateral Discussions for Economic Advancement

During his stay, Vice President Shettima will engage in high-level bilateral meetings aimed at bolstering Nigeria’s economic prospects. These discussions will focus on addressing global risks and creating pathways for economic growth.

AfDB Workshop on Africa’s Frontier Markets

One of the standout events on his itinerary is a workshop titled “Roadmap to Co-create Investment Opportunities for Africa’s Frontier Markets”, organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with the WEF. This workshop aims to attract capital flows into Africa to drive inclusive development and build resilience across the continent.

Launch of the HRI Roadmap for Africa

Vice President Shettima will also oversee the launch of the Humanitarian and Resilience Investing (HRI) Roadmap for Africa, a collaborative initiative between the AfDB and key partners. This effort seeks to encourage public-private partnerships and attract investments into Africa’s emerging markets.

Forum on Digital Trade Growth in Africa

Another significant engagement is his co-chairing of a forum titled “Turning Digital Trade into a Catalyst for Growth in Africa” at the Pischa Congress Centre. The forum will focus on leveraging the private sector to accelerate the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Digital Trade Protocol, which was adopted by African Union leaders in January 2024.

Participation in Global Risks 2025 Panel

Vice President Shettima is set to be a panelist in a session titled “Global Risks 2025” at the Aspen 2 Congress Centre. This panel will delve into critical geopolitical, technological, and environmental risks shaping the global landscape.

Crystal Awards Dinner

Shettima will attend the Annual Meeting 2025 Crystal Awards Dinner at Kurpark Village, Eiger, alongside heads of state, government officials, and leaders of international organizations.

Accompanying Delegation

Vice President Shettima is joined in Davos by senior Nigerian officials, including the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Aisha Rimi.

After completing his engagements, the Vice President is scheduled to return to Abuja.
