A.I. Umar, a consultant production pharmacist and Deputy Director at the Drug Manufacturing Unit of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, confirmed to LMSINT MEDIA that this problem has grown into a public health emergency.

“What we are experiencing is a dangerous reliance on uncontrolled aphrodisiacs, especially those distributed by unqualified street hawkers,” lamented Pharmacist Umar.

He explained further:

“These traders combine prescription-strength chemicals like Viagra or Vega with their so-called herbal remedies, creating extremely toxic and unpredictable mixtures.”

The Deadly Mixtures Behind Closed Doors

Reports gathered by LMSINT MEDIA show that these dangerous concoctions are often marketed as potent, natural, and safe. They are distributed discreetly at bus terminals, local kiosks, and market corners, usually packed in recycled plastic bottles or concealed in cellophane wrappers, making detection difficult.

However, according to Pharmacist Umar, there is nothing truly natural about these formulas.

“These products are not scientifically formulated. They consist of crushed pharmaceutical tablets mixed with local herbs and sometimes unknown ingredients. No standard dosage. No regulation. Just random guesswork,” Umar elaborated.

He further warned that these mixtures have been responsible for cases of acute chest pain, extremely high heart rates, cardiac collapse, and, tragically, sudden deaths in numerous cases.

Why do men, some as young as twenty years old, risk their lives with these untested mixtures?

Umar insists that genuine solutions require more than enforcement operations alone.

“Community leaders, faith-based organizations, traditional rulers, educators, and the media must all be involved. We need to break this wall of silence. We have to educate young men that masculinity is not defined by sexual performance but by wisdom, self-discipline, and taking responsibility for their own health,” he urged.
