Scheduled Maintenance to Cause Power Outages in Abuja
Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, should prepare for temporary power interruptions as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out planned maintenance activities. According to a statement released on Saturday by TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, maintenance work will take place at two key transmission substations over the weekend.
Planned Maintenance Details
- Gwagwalada Substation
- Date: Saturday, December 28, 2024
- Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Maintenance Scope: A 60MVA power transformer and associated switchgear will undergo repairs.
- Affected Areas: Gwagwalada and surrounding environments.
- Kukwaba Substation
- Date: Sunday, December 29, 2024
- Time: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Maintenance Scope: Repairs on a 60MVA power transformer.
- Affected Areas: Wuye, EFCC Headquarters, Federal Medical Centre, Coca-Cola, Idu Railway Station, Citec Estates, and Life Camp.
