Rivers Women Demand Fubara's Reinstatement Amid Political Crisis In Port Harcourt

A significant number of women under the banner Rivers Women United for Sim (RWUS) staged a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt on Thursday, passionately urging the federal government to restore peace and reinstate Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who was earlier suspended amidst political unrest in Rivers State.

The women, identifying themselves as mothers, wives, and peace advocates, described Rivers as a historically peaceful region and appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step in and resolve the ongoing political tension that has disrupted governance in the state.

According to reports from Daily Post Nigeria, this recent rally is part of a series of demonstrations that began shortly after Governor Fubara’s suspension in March. The women called on the President to re-establish all suspended elected officials and fully restore democratic structures in Rivers State. They insisted that Governor Fubara and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Odu, be allowed to continue their constitutional roles without undue interference.
