The political tension in Rivers State has escalated as the All Progressives Congress (APC) calls for the resignation or impeachment of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Addressing the press in Port Harcourt on Monday, Rivers State APC Chairman, Tony Okocha, emphasized that there is no necessity for the State House of Assembly to form a seven-man panel to probe the governor’s alleged misconduct.
“The Supreme Court has already unveiled these allegations,” Okocha stated.
Two Choices for Governor Fubara
According to Okocha, Governor Fubara has two options—either step down voluntarily or face impeachment proceedings initiated by the legislative body.
“These are the only available alternatives left for Sir Siminalayi Fubara,” he reiterated.
