Rising Violence: Osun Gov Adeleke Warns Politicians, Establishes Mobile Courts

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has issued a strong warning over the increasing wave of political violence emerging in various parts of the state. He urged political actors across Osun to respect the will of the people, refrain from inciting chaos, and completely abandon any acts linked to thuggery, provocation, and bloodshed.

The governor’s stern message comes in response to the recent disturbing killings in Ilesa, a development that has generated significant public concern. Condemning the tragic incidents, Governor Adeleke issued a clear directive to the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, instructing him to immediately clamp down on all forms of politically motivated attacks and restore calm across Ijeshaland and surrounding communities.

Represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, Governor Adeleke delivered this caution while presiding over the Osun State Security Council meeting held on Wednesday. He emphasized that the security architecture of the state must respond swiftly to prevent further escalation and ensure the protection of lives and property.

Governor Adeleke also stressed that his administration has zero tolerance for violence and would not hesitate to bring perpetrators to justice through every available legal channel. As part of the government’s renewed effort to curb rising unrest, he announced the establishment of mobile courts dedicated to handling politically induced offenses quickly and transparently.

The governor reassured residents that the state government remains fully committed to maintaining peace and order. He called on all political stakeholders, community leaders, and youths to support security agencies by promoting harmony and resisting any attempt to destabilize the state.
