Anambra State Governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, who is also the founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, has raised concerns over the alarming increase in cardiovascular-related deaths. She emphasized the urgent need for conscious medical care and disciplined lifestyle habits to combat this growing health challenge.
“It is crucial for everyone to recognize that deaths from cardiovascular diseases often occur suddenly and can be difficult to prevent, particularly during acute episodes,” Mrs. Soludo remarked.
She stressed that many cardiovascular conditions are preventable by addressing key habitual risk factors, including tobacco use, unhealthy eating, obesity, physical inactivity, and excessive alcohol consumption.
“I want to re-emphasize the vital role of healthy living in preventing cardiovascular fatalities. Engaging in regular physical activity, consuming nutritious and organic foods, and routinely monitoring heart health are essential measures everyone should adopt,” she added.
Mrs. Soludo also urged individuals with a family history of cardiovascular diseases to be extra cautious. She recommended adopting healthy daily routines and avoiding lifestyles that may worsen inherited risks.
“Our mission is to ensure that healthy living becomes a conscious habit for everyone, helping individuals avoid disease threats that can arise from cardiovascular issues and poor nutrition,” she said.
