Nigerian music star Reekado Banks has recently admitted that he is no longer fully convinced about proceeding with marriage plans involving his fiancée, who is also the mother of his child. This revelation marks a significant shift from his earlier confidence about settling down with her.
Just two months ago, Reekado Banks had announced during an interview that he was getting ready to wed his fiancée, who is popularly known as his babymama. However, in a fresh conversation on TVC’s program Interview with Esther Oye, the singer explained that he is currently uncertain about the relationship.
During the interview, Reekado Banks reflected on what could have caused this change of heart. He acknowledged that his wavering position is tied to his own emotional growth and decision-making process. According to him, “At my last interview, I was very sure of my stance. But now I am in a different headspace. It has only been two months since I said those things, and for that reason, I can’t really say anything definite right now. Back then, I was certain, but at this point I can’t be so sure. My change of mind comes from experience. I wouldn’t attribute it to the pressures of the music industry, but rather to myself and my emotional intelligence, which I am still trying to develop.”
It will be recalled that Reekado Banks and his partner celebrated the birth of their baby boy in November 2024, a joyful event that was widely shared on social media. Following the birth, in December, Reekado made a public appearance with his fiancée for the first time, introducing her to fans and the media.
The current situation reflects a turning point for the singer, who has openly recognized the importance of building stronger emotional intelligence before making long-term commitments. Fans will likely keep a close eye on whether the couple eventually moves forward with marriage or takes more time to work on their relationship.
