Reduce Foreign Trips, Focus on Domestic Challenges – Tinubu Advised

A prominent legal practitioner and political analyst, Liborous Oshoma, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lessen his frequent foreign trips and concentrate more on the domestic issues facing Nigeria, particularly insecurity and worsening poverty levels.

Oshoma made this statement during an exclusive interview on Politics Today, a political program broadcast by Channels Television, and monitored by LMSINT MEDIA. During the discussion, Oshoma emphasized that while international diplomacy is essential for national growth, excessive foreign engagements can divert attention from urgent national concerns that directly affect the lives of Nigerians.

He stressed that security challenges, inflation, and rising unemployment are the most pressing issues that need the government’s immediate focus. According to Oshoma, the President should adopt a more home-centered governance approach to rebuild citizens’ trust and strengthen Nigeria’s internal systems before prioritizing external relations.

The political analyst further pointed out that, although foreign partnerships and global representation are vital, they should not overshadow the country’s internal needs. He advised that the Federal Government must redirect its attention to tackling economic instability, reforming security institutions, and improving the living conditions of the average Nigerian.

Oshoma also highlighted that Nigerians are becoming increasingly frustrated with the slow pace of government intervention in critical sectors such as agriculture, energy, and education. He therefore encouraged President Tinubu to initiate practical reforms and policy implementation that will produce measurable outcomes for citizens at home rather than relying heavily on international support or appearances.
