Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, arrived in Paris, France, on Wednesday for a three-day official visit aimed at strengthening Nigeria-France relations.
Arrival in Paris
President Tinubu’s plane touched down at Orly Airport at approximately 5:10 PM (local time). The couple was warmly received by the French Republican Guard, marking the start of a visit designed to enhance diplomatic and economic collaboration between the two nations.
This visit, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, is Tinubu’s fifth official trip to France since assuming office 18 months ago.
Key Agenda for the Visit
The discussions between Tinubu and Macron will focus on a wide range of critical sectors, including:
- Agriculture
- Security and Defense
- Education and Healthcare
- Youth Empowerment and Innovation
- Energy Transition
According to the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the talks are designed to deepen political, economic, and social cooperation between Nigeria and France.
Cultural Engagements and High-Level Meetings
As part of the visit, President Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will tour the historic Les Invalides Military Museum, renowned for its display of French military history. This will be followed by a meeting with President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at the iconic Élysée Palace.

This state visit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to fostering global partnerships that drive national growth. By focusing on innovation, youth empowerment, and energy solutions, the talks aim to build a more sustainable future while enhancing Nigeria’s global standing.
