President Tinubu to Recognize 210 Outstanding Former NYSC Members from 2020–2023

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will bestow national honours upon a total of 210 former members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for their exceptional service during the 2020 to 2023 service years.

This announcement was made in a recent press release issued on Saturday from Abuja by Mr. Emeka Mgbemena, the Director of Media for NYSC.

According to the official statement, the Presidential NYSC Honours Award ceremony will take place on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, signifying high-level government recognition of meritorious national youth service.

Mr. Mgbemena stated that 200 of the award recipients were selected for demonstrating excellence across NYSC’s four core pillars, which include:

• Orientation Course
• Primary Assignment
• Community Development Service (CDS)
• Winding-Up/Passing-Out activities

In addition to these outstanding performers, 10 other ex-corps members who sustained various permanent disabilities while serving Nigeria will also be honoured under the NYSC Hope Alive Initiative. This initiative is part of the federal government’s efforts to ensure that no hero is left behind, especially those who were injured in the line of duty.

The event is expected to host dignitaries such as the Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Akinlade Nafiu, and other key members of the NYSC management team. They have all expressed anticipation in receiving the awardees and invited guests at the national event.
