Controversial Singer Portable Remanded In Ilorin Prison Over Unmet Bail Conditions

Popular Nigerian singer Portable, legally known as Okikiola Badmus, has been remanded at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, following his failure to fulfill the bail conditions handed down by the Upper Area Court.

The embattled artist, widely recognized for his breakout hit “Zazoo Zeh,” appeared before the court to address allegations of defamation of character filed by renowned Fuji musician Saheed Osupa, born Akorede Saheed.

He must provide two sureties of the same bail amount.
One surety must be a Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN).
The other surety must be a property owner in a Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ilorin, with a valid Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) as proof.

Due to the inability to satisfy these requirements, the judge ordered that Portable be held in custody pending the fulfillment of the bail terms.
