Popular Nigerian Singer Portable Released on Bail from Ilorin Custodial Centre

Nigerian street-hop singer, Badmus Abeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been officially released from the Ilorin correctional facility after fulfilling revised bail conditions.

His release comes after Saheed Osupa, a well-known Fuji musician, withdrew his petition which initially led to Portable’s arrest. According to Daily Post Nigeria, Portable was freed around 3:30 PM on Tuesday, following an update to his bail terms by the authorities.

Did You Know?
Portable had to shave off his signature multi-colored hairstyle before his release—a requirement reportedly imposed by the custodial center’s grooming standards.

Details Surrounding Portable’s Arrest and Release

Portable was arrested on Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and later transferred to Kwara State by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command. He was accused of criminal intimidation, defamation, and threat to life, with the charges initiated by fellow artist, Saheed Osupa.

However, sources from the Oke-Kura custodial centre in Ilorin confirmed that the withdrawal of the complaint prompted a swift variation of his bail terms. His two wives were present to receive him upon his release.

He reportedly had his first meal on Tuesday morning, since his incarceration began on Monday.

What This Means for Portable’s Fans

The release of Portable has been met with a wave of relief from his fanbase. It’s still unclear if the issue will resurface legally, but for now, the singer is free and likely to resume his music career soon.
