Veteran Nigerian musician, King Sunny Ade, is currently reported to be missing, according to his daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi. The alarming news was shared through a series of posts on her Instagram page on Monday, where she expressed deep concern about her father’s whereabouts and well-being. Damilola’s posts raised fears that the legendary musician may have been kidnapped.
In her posts, Damilola did not provide specific evidence but accused several individuals close to her father of involvement in his disappearance. She specifically pointed to her stepbrother, who also serves as King Sunny Ade’s manager, as a key figure in the alleged abduction.
Damilola further claimed that her last conversation with her father suggested that King Sunny Ade is being forced to work under duress. She called for immediate investigation into the matter and urgently urged relevant authorities to intervene.
In her statement, she went on to say: “King Sunny Ade has been kidnapped. The manager, Dayo, is the culprit, along with his mother, brothers (Demola, Kenny), and his driver, Ade.” This accusation has raised serious concerns about the safety and freedom of the renowned musician, who is revered for his contributions to Nigerian and world music.
