Jude Ezenwafor has secured the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the upcoming Anambra governorship election, with no opposition. This win positions him as the party’s official candidate for the election scheduled for November 8, 2025. The PDP governorship primary was held at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka, Anambra State, on Tuesday. Chijioke Onwubuya, the chairman of the State Governorship Election Congress Committee, declared Ezenwafor as the party’s flagbearer after the primary concluded. According to Onwubuya, Ezenwafor garnered 798 valid votes, with 26 invalid votes, out of 853 accredited delegates from a list of 999. He officially announced, “By the power vested in me and in accordance with PDP rules, I hereby declare Jude Ezenwafor as our candidate.” The election process was conducted in line with the PDP constitution and electoral guidelines, ensuring a transparent and democratic procedure. After securing the party’s nomination, Ezenwafor expressed his commitment to the PDP’s mission to restore leadership in Anambra.
