NDLEA Receives Suspects Arrested With $92K Worth Of Tramadol In Kano

The Kano State Police Command has successfully apprehended and handed over two individuals suspected of drug trafficking to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), reinforcing its commitment to the fight against narcotics in Nigeria.

According to an official release by Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the suspects, identified as Muntari Shu’aibu and Imrana Rabi’u, were caught with six bales of Tramadol – a prohibited substance valued at over $92,000 (approximately ₦150 million).

The arrest was the result of a strategic, intelligence-driven operation executed by the Command following a reliable tip-off. CP Bakori emphasized that this operation aligns with the state’s ongoing efforts to dismantle networks that facilitate drug abuse and violent crimes.

“We are fully committed to leveraging every available resource to ensure the security and welfare of our citizens,” the CP stated.

After securing the arrest and seizure, the suspects and the illicit drugs were officially transferred to the NDLEA Kano Command for further interrogation and legal action.

This move underscores the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force under the leadership of Inspector-General Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, to collaborative, community-based policing. It also highlights the increasing emphasis on inter-agency cooperation among Nigeria’s law enforcement bodies.
