Police On The Hunt For Couple Over Alleged Murder Of Chinese National

The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man identified as Jonah and his unnamed girlfriend for their alleged involvement in the fatal stabbing of a Chinese expatriate, Chen Wang.

Details of the Incident
According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred around noon on Sunday at the Fujiada Electronics Technology Company Ltd., where Wang served as the manager. The tragic event unfolded in the company’s office along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

The company’s manager, Mr. Akosile Akinsanmi, reported the incident to the Ogere Police Division shortly after it happened. Preliminary investigations revealed that Jonah, accompanied by his girlfriend, allegedly entered Wang’s office during the workers’ routine break, stabbed him, and fled the scene.

Police Investigation
Odutola confirmed that detectives from the Ogere Police Division carried out an initial investigation at the scene, which included capturing photographs of the victim. She stated:

“The company’s manager reported that on January 12, during the workers’ break at around noon, Jonah, whose last name remains unknown, along with his unidentified girlfriend, entered the office of Chen Wang, a 33-year-old Chinese national, and fatally stabbed him. The suspects fled immediately after committing the act.”

The body of the deceased has been taken to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital for a postmortem examination. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, with plans to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a more thorough inquiry.

Ongoing Efforts to Apprehend the Suspects
Authorities have intensified efforts to locate and apprehend Jonah and his girlfriend, who remain at large. The police have urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could aid in the arrest of the suspects.
