Abeokuta, Ogun State—A tragic incident unfolded at the Super G Royal Hotel in Anthony Uzum Estate, Oyeyemi Akute, as a police inspector, identified as Haruna Mohammed, was discovered lifeless in a hotel room. The shocking discovery was made in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Reports indicate that the deceased officer, who was attached to the Ishashi Police Division in Lagos State, checked into the hotel around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday with an unidentified woman. However, by morning, only his body remained in the room.
According to hotel manager Deborah Adejobi, she noticed the door to their room was left ajar at approximately 8:52 a.m. Upon checking, she found the lifeless body of Inspector Mohammed, but the woman was nowhere to be seen.
A police memo on the incident revealed that the hotel owner, Abiodun Olagunju, promptly informed the authorities. Further details indicate that the woman was last seen at the reception desk around 6:00 a.m., requesting a bottle of water before disappearing. Following protocol, the officer’s body was transported to Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe for further examination.
Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident. She noted that initial findings did not immediately identify the deceased as a police officer, as no identification card was found on him. However, further investigations linked him to the Ishashi Division of the Lagos State Police Command. The Division Police Officer (DPO) was contacted, and the officer’s identity was verified.
Law enforcement officials have since launched an intensive manhunt for the missing woman, with ongoing investigations to determine the circumstances leading to Inspector Mohammed’s death.
