Acting on credible intelligence, the Zonal Financial and Cyber Crime Unit conducted a raid in the Rumukparali community of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State. The operation led to the arrest of three suspects: Billion Ndubuisi, Charles Amachree, and Martins Chinemike.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted to impersonating a US-based legal luminary, Ryam Bill, and defrauding two victims, St. Andrea and Charlen Zielinsky, of $71,500.

A thorough search of the suspects’ premises uncovered:

  • Wraps of suspected cannabis.
  • Two vehicles.

Bribe Rejected by Police Officers

The suspects, through their agent, attempted to offer a $17,000 bribe to the police officers to secure their release. However, the officers rejected the offer, adhering to their professional ethics. SP Emonena confirmed that the money was documented and will be presented as evidence in court.
