Phyna Criticizes Tinubu’s Benue Visit, Provokes Public Debate

Popular reality television personality, Phyna, has stirred online reactions after strongly criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Yelwata community in Benue State.

The community had recently suffered a tragic assault by alleged herdsmen, leading to the loss of more than 200 lives.

During his visit, President Tinubu was seen meeting some of the alleged attack survivors receiving treatment at a hospital.

However, Phyna expressed serious doubts over the legitimacy of the hospital visit. She raised concerns regarding the identity of the individuals Tinubu interacted with and condemned the red carpet rolled out for the President at the hospital.

She further suggested that the pictures from the visit may have been digitally altered.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) page, Phyna questioned the essence of the visit, emphasizing that all those affected by the attack had reportedly been killed and set ablaze — thereby leaving no victims for the President to meet in the hospital.

Her tweet read:

“There were no victims in Yelewata, they were all killed and burnt alive. Who are those in the hospital that the President went to visit standing on a red rug?

“Why are you doing a photoshop to make us angrier? Nigeria has failed us.”

Her statement ignited a wave of mixed responses across social media.

While some netizens supported her courage to speak up, others criticized her for allegedly chasing clout and misrepresenting the reality of the tragic incident.
