Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, paid a visit to General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), Nigeria’s former military president, at his Minna residence in Niger State. This meeting followed Obi’s earlier engagement with Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi.
In a post shared on his official X account, Obi highlighted the importance of his discussion with Babangida, emphasizing the elder statesman’s valuable contributions to national discourse.
“After concluding my meeting in Jigawa State, I proceeded to Minna, Niger State, to visit a respected father figure and leader, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. It was a privilege to exchange thoughts on pressing national matters and wish him a Happy New Year,” Obi stated.
He further expressed his admiration for Babangida, describing him as a source of profound wisdom and guidance. “General Babangida’s insights are truly invaluable, and I deeply cherish every opportunity to learn from his wealth of experience,” Obi added.
