The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), through its Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, has sharply criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing both leaders as unready for the demands of governance.
Wabara expressed frustration over the fact that both the President and his deputy embarked on foreign trips simultaneously, despite the pressing socio-economic challenges facing Nigeria.
According to him, this dual absence is “a clear case of executive irresponsibility” and represents a serious lapse in leadership.
“A leader may travel when necessary,” said Wabara, “but the President must delegate authority properly. It is troubling that the Vice President also left the country while the President was abroad.”
Tinubu recently departed for a two-week official assignment in France, while Shettima attended Senegal’s 65th Independence Day celebration on April 4 as Nigeria’s representative.
The PDP stalwart questioned the wisdom behind such timing, especially at a time when the country is grappling with insecurity, economic instability, and public dissatisfaction.
“Nigeria is dealing with urgent national issues, yet both leaders abandoned their responsibilities at once. This kind of leadership vacuum is unacceptable,” Wabara added.
Wabara believes that the President and Vice President’s actions portray a lack of coordination, and he emphasized that Nigerians deserve better.
