UK-based Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, has confidently stated his belief that he will achieve greater success in Nigeria than he did in the United Kingdom. Pastor Adegboyega, the founder of the Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, widely known as SPAC Nation, shared this during a recent interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
Despite a ruling by the UK immigration upper tribunal that led to his deportation over allegations of a £1.87 million fraud, the pastor denied any wrongdoing, dismissing the claims as baseless and unfounded.
Speaking on the deportation issue, Pastor Adegboyega emphasized his commitment to Nigeria. “I’ll be back in Nigeria soon. It’s my country, and I see a brighter future there,” he said. “We’ll focus on rebuilding the nation. What I’ve done at SPAC Nation in the UK is proof that young people can thrive, and I’ll channel that same energy into Nigeria.”
The pastor also criticized UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch’s remarks about Nigeria, arguing that the UK has its own significant societal challenges. He pointed out issues such as the high rate of violent crime, including 78,000 phone thefts recorded in 2023/2024, and systemic racial disparities.
Pastor Adegboyega noted the struggles of the black community in the UK, highlighting that many young black individuals face greater representation in prisons than in schools. He explained how SPAC Nation has worked to counter these challenges by sending young people to prestigious institutions like Cambridge and Harvard.
He further denied allegations of improper behavior, including claims that he frequented nightclubs. “I’ve never been seen in a nightclub. I only spend time with friends at restaurants,” he clarified.
Looking ahead, Adegboyega remains optimistic about the impact he can make in Nigeria. “There are thousands willing to return to Nigeria to contribute to nation-building. I’m ready to do what’s rightfully ours and inspire change.”
