Pastor Adeboye Urges Authorities to Free TikToker SeaKing
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has publicly advocated for the release of TikTok personality Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known as SeaKing.
Speaking at RCCG’s February Holy Ghost Service held at the 3km by 3km auditorium in Simawa, Ogun State, Adeboye expressed surprise over the social media influencer’s detention.
The revered cleric reminded his congregation that this year’s prophecies warned of increased opposition and mockery of divine instructions. According to him, SeaKing’s controversial statements are simply a fulfillment of those prophecies.
“Release Him! He is Fulfilling Prophecy” – Adeboye
During his sermon, Adeboye highlighted a particular prophecy delivered at the beginning of the year, which foretold that mockers of the divine would grow more vocal and confrontational. He stated:
“God told us at the start of the year that mockers would become bolder, even more aggressive. I heard that someone harshly criticized me for asking my followers to fast for 100 days. I never imposed the fast on him—only on my children in faith.”
Expressing his disapproval of the arrest, he urged authorities to release the TikToker, asserting that SeaKing’s actions align with the divine message revealed earlier in the year.
Why Was SeaKing Arrested?
SeaKing was detained in December 2024 after a controversial live broadcast where he criticized President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
The accusations against him include:
- Treason
- Cyberstalking
- Conduct likely to incite public disorder
He was later granted bail by a magistrate’s court for ₦500,000, with the condition that two sureties provide the same amount.
Adeboye Warns Against Fire Outbreaks
Beyond addressing SeaKing’s arrest, Pastor Adeboye reiterated the urgency of praying against fire outbreaks, storms, and floods.
Referring to ongoing global disasters, he stated:
“Look at the fire incidents in America—despite their advanced equipment, flames rekindled even after being extinguished. We have also seen fuel tanker accidents, school fires, and severe flooding worldwide. These are warnings—please pray.”
The cleric urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, emphasizing that anyone noticing an open flame should act swiftly to prevent disasters.
Conclusion
Pastor Adeboye’s call for SeaKing’s release has sparked discussions on freedom of speech, religious prophecies, and law enforcement actions in Nigeria. As the case unfolds, many await the authorities’ response to the respected cleric’s plea.
