Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, recently inaugurated two newly appointed government officials, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Meribeole and Rev. Annie Onu, urging them to serve the state with dedication and excellence. During the swearing-in ceremony at the Government House in Umuahia, Otti emphasized that his administration has zero tolerance for corruption and substandard performance, stating such behaviors would not be tolerated.

Governor Otti addressed both appointees, urging them to meet the high expectations of the people of Abia. He specifically cautioned Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Meribeole, who will serve as Special Adviser on Projects, and Rev. Annie Onu, who will take on the role of Executive Secretary of the Abia State Diaspora Commission, to uphold the integrity of their positions.

“We stand firmly against corruption and poor performance,” Otti declared, stressing that the state’s governance must adhere to the highest standards.

Governor Otti also acknowledged the wealth of experience brought by the new appointees. Meribeole, a retired Permanent Secretary from the Federal Ministry of Aviation, has already been involved in the ongoing construction of the Abia Airport. Rev. Annie Onu, a member of the Abia Diaspora Commission, will coordinate the commission’s activities, ensuring seamless communication between the diaspora and those at home.

In their responses, both Meribeole and Onu committed to aligning their efforts with the developmental vision of the administration, promising to work for the progress of Abia State and its people.
