Osun Airport: Obasanjo Encourages Adeleke To Continue Progress

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has commended Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for his progress on the Osun State International Airport project, urging him to stay committed to development despite opposition challenges.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has commended Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his unwavering commitment to ensuring the success of the Osun State International Airport project.

Obasanjo praised Governor Adeleke’s maturity in handling challenges posed by opposition efforts to derail the airport’s establishment, describing their actions as calculated attempts to frustrate the development.

The commendation was given during a meeting with Governor Adeleke at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Obasanjo’s Words of Praise for Governor Adeleke

The former president expressed pride in Adeleke’s achievements across various sectors, noting his impressive progress in just two years as governor.

“They call him a dancer, but he has consistently delivered to the amazement of his political opponents,” Obasanjo remarked.

He further thanked Adeleke for not disappointing the people of Osun State and Nigerians who entrusted him with leadership.

“I urge you to keep dancing amidst your remarkable performance. You have made Osun stand out on a global stage, and I am proud of you,” Obasanjo added.

On the proposed international airport in Akoda, Ede, Obasanjo lauded Adeleke’s handling of opposition criticism and efforts to obstruct the project.

“Congratulations on how you managed the challenges surrounding the airport project. Your resolve to push forward with a visionary development agenda is commendable,” the elder statesman said.

Adeleke’s Response: Gratitude and Commitment

In response, Governor Ademola Adeleke expressed deep gratitude to Obasanjo for his unwavering support and wise counsel. He noted that his administration remains focused on inclusiveness, due process, and extensive consultation with stakeholders in pursuing developmental projects like the airport.

Adeleke acknowledged the persistent efforts of political detractors to frustrate his government but credited his resilience to taking advice from respected leaders like Obasanjo.

“I sincerely appreciate your guidance and encouragement. Despite challenges, we have remained committed to delivering on our promises to the people of Osun,” the governor stated.

The governor was accompanied by key members of his administration, including the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, Commissioner for Agriculture, Tola Fasheeru, and Commissioner for Innovation, Science, Technology, and Digital Economy, Dele Ayofe.
