Renowned Nollywood actress, Doris Ogala, has firmly stated that she did not lie, countering remarks made by Pastor Chris Okafor, the founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry, in a public apology.
The controversy began when Doris Ogala accused Pastor Chris of failing to honor a commitment to marry her—a claim that has sparked further complications for the prominent cleric.
In a formal notice sent to Pastor Okafor through her legal representatives, Synergy Law Partners, on December 16, 2025, the actress demanded compensation amounting to N1 billion for damages arising from the alleged breach.
During his address to his congregation, Pastor Chris Okafor offered an apology not only to Doris Ogala but also to others who may have been affected by his actions. He remarked:
“To the lady called Doris Ogala, mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender my apologies to everyone. While many of the things said are not true, I sincerely apologize to all whom I have offended. Doris Ogala, I am truly sorry and I am willing to make restitution to anyone I have wronged.”
Despite this apology, Doris Ogala has openly rejected the assertion that her statements were false. Speaking to her followers on Facebook, the actress emphasized that the claim of dishonesty was unacceptable to her. She wrote:
“Chris Okafor, I forgive you, but I have an issue with your statement that everything I said is a lie. I take pride in my truthfulness, and I do not lie.”
This public exchange has reignited discussions about accountability and credibility among public figures in Nigeria’s entertainment and religious sectors. The case continues to attract widespread attention as both parties maintain their respective stances.
