Renowned Nigerian actor Femi Branch was reportedly stopped from leaving a film set after he allegedly assaulted the assistant director during production.
In a viral video making rounds online, the actor was seen being blocked at the location’s gate by on-site security officials and colleagues of the assaulted crew member. They were heard insisting: “You’re not leaving until you finish the remaining scenes.”
In the heated exchange, Femi Branch could be heard confronting the director:
“Did I come here because of you? Were you the one who invited me to this set? Did you bring me here to insult me, or what’s going on here?”
The director, trying to de-escalate the situation, replied:
“Sir, can we just resume filming?”
But Femi responded sharply:
“Don’t speak to me. You’ve lost control of your own set.”
To that, the director stated:
“You’re insulting someone on my set. Didn’t I tell you earlier that it was enough? I don’t have to say more. Let’s just complete the shoot and move on. You physically assaulted someone. Wasn’t it me you slapped? It’s okay. You’ve done what you came here to do.”
Visibly furious, Femi Branch turned to the security team and threatened to file a complaint with the estate management:
“You’re stopping me from leaving, right? I swear, I will report this to the estate management. You must explain why you’ve locked me inside this location.”
