No ransom paid – Kebbi Government Confirms Freed Students Are Safe

The Kebbi State Government has announced that the schoolchildren recently rescued from armed bandits are in stable condition and will soon reunite with their families. Governor Nasir Idris made this known during a press briefing held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, where he expressed deep gratitude to the security forces and the Federal Government for their swift intervention.

Governor Idris emphasized that the rescue operation was handled professionally and without the payment of any ransom. He reassured the public that every student involved in the incident is safe and receiving the necessary support from medical and security teams.

While addressing journalists, the governor noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with various security agencies, played a crucial role in ensuring the students’ safe return. He acknowledged their coordinated efforts and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting all residents of Kebbi State, especially schoolchildren in vulnerable communities.
