The Kebbi State Government has announced that the schoolchildren recently rescued from armed bandits are in stable condition and will soon reunite with their families. Governor Nasir Idris made this known during a press briefing held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, where he expressed deep gratitude to the security forces and the Federal Government for their swift intervention.
While addressing journalists, the governor noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with various security agencies, played a crucial role in ensuring the students’ safe return. He acknowledged their coordinated efforts and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting all residents of Kebbi State, especially schoolchildren in vulnerable communities.
According to the governor, preliminary updates from the security operatives confirmed that the rescued children were already on their way back to the state capital. He stressed that the government will continue to prioritize security reforms to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Governor Idris added that this successful rescue operation demonstrates the growing efficiency of Nigeria’s security architecture and the determination of the state government to work closely with federal authorities to restore peace across all regions of the state.
