The outgoing Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas, has urged the people of the state to put unity and peace above personal ambition, stressing that no political ambition or electoral triumph is worth the blood of any Rivers citizen.
Ibas made this passionate call on Sunday during an interdenominational thanksgiving service held at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt, the state capital. The event was organized to mark Rivers State’s transition back to democratic governance following the successful conduct of the local council elections.
LMSINT Media recalls that President Bola Tinubu appointed Ibok-Ete Ibas in March as Sole Administrator of Rivers State to oversee governance during the six-month emergency rule declared in the state.
“Political actors must sheath their swords because no political victory or personal interest is worth the blood of any Rivers citizen. The peace, unity, and prosperity of Rivers State must take precedence over personal ambition or partisan politics. Politics must never become an excuse to destroy the very state we are called to protect and serve.”
