In a devastating incident along the Maiduguri-Damaturu expressway, nine people have been confirmed dead, while seven others sustained varying degrees of injuries following a ghastly auto accident on Friday.
This tragic development was officially disclosed by the Borno State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Usman Muhammad, in a press statement released from Maiduguri.
Details of the Borno Auto Crash Incident
According to Mr. Muhammad, the fatal collision involved a Toyota Hummer Bus operated by Borno Express and a commercial trailer, both of which collided on the high-speed highway that connects Maiduguri to Damaturu, an area notorious for heavy traffic and occasional accidents.
The Sector Commander provided further specifics, revealing that the casualties included five adult males, one adult female, two male children, and one female child.
“Eight passengers tragically died on the spot, while an additional victim succumbed to injuries at the Specialists Hospital in Maiduguri, where the remaining injured individuals are currently being treated for their wounds.”

Mr. Usman Muhammad extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families affected by this unfortunate event. He emphasized that a thorough investigation is currently underway to ascertain the precise cause of the horrific road accident.
