Nigerian content creator and popular livestreamer, Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has reportedly been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen while streaming live on the internet on Wednesday night.
According to video clips circulating online, the shocking incident unfolded while Peller was broadcasting to his followers. In the footage, the streamer could be heard confronting the armed men with the words:
“You dey carry gun, Ogun wan kill you? Calm down jor. Na who you come dey point gun for?”
In response, one of the alleged gunmen replied angrily:
“Na me you dey follow me the tok like that? I say make you calm down, you dey follow me dey tok anyhow.”
The exchange quickly escalated, with background voices suggesting a scuffle between Peller and the assailants. Shortly after, an unidentified individual at the scene was heard announcing that the gunmen had taken Peller away to an undisclosed location.
At the time of writing, official details remain unclear, and there has been no official statement from the Nigerian Police Force regarding the alleged kidnapping.
This incident adds to the growing worries about security challenges in Nigeria, particularly in cases where public figures and influencers have been targeted.
