Nigeria Will Not Fail in Security — Tinubu Reaffirms Confidence in State Police

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his assurance that Nigeria’s security challenges are poised for significant improvement once State Police are instituted nationwide.

Speaking about the anticipated impact of State Police, President Tinubu said he confidently assured leaders from the United States (US) and the European Union (EU) that establishing State policing structures in Nigeria will lead to tangible enhancements in public safety and internal security. According to the President, his remarks to international partners emphasized that Nigeria’s security architecture would be bolstered and more effective with decentralised policing.

Tinubu described how he had boldly communicated this belief to senior officials from the US and EU, asserting that with the creation of State Police, security operations would be more responsive, localized, and aligned with unique challenges across Nigeria’s diverse states.
