Netizens and followers of Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy and renowned socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, have voiced their disappointment regarding the ongoing social media clash between the two celebrities.

Many social media users criticized the duo for starting the new year with public arguments, urging both parties to find common ground and end the dispute. However, fans of both sides have continued to support their favorites while trading insults toward the other party.

Origin of the Conflict

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the feud began early in the new year when Burna Boy took to Instagram, referring to Cubana Chief Priest as the “Owerri version” of Rick Ross, the famous American rapper. He further accused Chief Priest of fraudulent activities, referring to him as “Azaman,” a slang for a scammer, while mentioning the arrest of Chief Priest’s associate, “Omo Igbo,” in the U.S., warning that he could be next.

Burna Boy posted:

“No forget say you be Azaman o. And dem don gbe your plug wey he names na Omo Igbo for ATL, and na you be next #OWerriRickyRozay.”

Cubana Chief Priest Responds

In a swift reaction, Cubana Chief Priest fired back through multiple posts, accusing Burna Boy of jealousy and alleging that his Grammy win was connected to a personal relationship with American rapper Diddy.

He wrote:

“How can someone who claims to be wealthy be so bitter? You won a Grammy and still feel pain? Only you rush bend down collect Grammy, and you’re still crying.”

Chief Priest further disclosed that he once paid Burna Boy ₦1 million to perform as a backup singer at his birthday party in 2018, suggesting that Burna’s rise to fame came much later than his own financial success.

He added:

“In 2018, I paid you ₦1 million to perform at my birthday. I have videos and pictures to back it up. We’ve been making money long before you joined the line. Be humble, small boy.”

More Allegations Unfold

Cubana Chief Priest accused Burna Boy of living a luxury lifestyle fueled by debts involving luxury cars and jewelry. He threatened to reveal more about Burna’s personal and financial affairs.

In retaliation, Burna Boy posted a viral video showing a man who claimed to be Cubana Chief Priest’s brother, seeking financial assistance. The singer pledged $30,000 to the man if his followers could locate him.

Fans’ Reactions

The social media drama has sparked mixed reactions. Some fans have condemned both celebrities for publicly airing their disagreements, while others continue to support their favorite side.

@Petersonofficial: “Why should two big men start the new year fighting? We’re watching to see how this ends.”

@Creationtrips: “These celebrities are no different from corrupt politicians. They use money to buy people’s loyalty and oppress others with their influence. Disgusting!”

@Olamide0fficial: “Burna Boy came from humble beginnings. He worked hard to get where he is today. You can’t mock that.”

@effizzzyy: “They never believed Burna would surpass their achievements. Being the first to succeed doesn’t guarantee staying on top.”

@Solomon_Buchi: “Burna Boy offering to take care of Cubana’s alleged abandoned son was both grand and petty at the same time.”

Conclusion

As the online feud continues, many observers are calling for both celebrities to resolve their differences peacefully and stop the public display of conflict.
