The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted full institutional accreditation to 18 programmes at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, and approved the introduction of eight new programmes. This milestone underscores the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

Full Accreditation for Academic Excellence

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Usman, announced the accreditation success in a statement released by the institution’s spokesperson, Uredo Omale. The NBTE’s accreditation exercise, conducted from December 18 to 20, 2024, resulted in 100% quality assurance for 27 programmes, building on the 2022 success when all 30 presented programmes received full accreditation.

Expansion Under New Leadership

Out of the 57 programmes currently offered at Kogi State Polytechnic, 19 were introduced during Dr. Usman’s tenure—accounting for 33.3% of all programmes at the institution. This achievement highlights the transformative strides taken under his administration to expand the institution’s academic offerings.

These additions aim to equip students with relevant skills to meet industry demands and foster socio-economic development.

He also commended the collective efforts of the institution’s principal officers, management, academic board, and staff for their dedication during the accreditation process.

Reiterating his vision, Dr. Usman affirmed his commitment to rebranding Kogi State Polytechnic as a model institution admired across Nigeria and beyond.
