Nassourdine Imavov Knocks Out Israel Adesanya At UFC Fight Night 250

Israel Adesanya’s position in the middleweight division has taken a significant hit after suffering a surprising knockout loss to Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Fight Night 250 in Saudi Arabia. Adesanya, the former two-time middleweight champion, came into the fight under pressure, following consecutive losses to Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis. Despite entering the octagon as the favorite, Adesanya couldn’t halt his losing streak, as Imavov, a French fighter born in Dagestan, pulled off the biggest victory of his career with a stunning knockout in the second round.

The fight began with Adesanya moving light on his feet, using strong low kicks to target Imavov’s lead leg. However, Imavov remained unbothered, continuing to press the action. The fighter eventually closed the gap and landed a devastating shovel hook, which snapped Adesanya’s head back. A minute and a half before the round ended, Adesanya absorbed a powerful right hand but managed to stay on his feet. Unfortunately, he couldn’t recover in time for the restart. Moments later, Imavov unleashed another heavy right hand, sending Adesanya crashing to the canvas.

Imavov quickly followed up with a brutal left uppercut and a series of ground-and-pound strikes. Referee Marc Goddard stepped in to stop the fight, declaring Imavov the winner by knockout. The AnB Arena crowd, including football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, was left stunned by the unexpected finish. Adesanya, visibly shocked, stood motionless as the reality of his defeat began to sink in.
