Senate President Godswill Akpabio has revealed that additional state governors from opposition parties are currently finalizing arrangements to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party. According to him, the move is aimed at consolidating support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and strengthening the party’s political dominance across the country.
The Senate President also noted that the APC remains open and accommodating to political leaders who are willing to align with its vision for Nigeria’s progress. He explained that the expected wave of defections will not only boost the ruling party’s numerical strength but will also enhance political stability and governance at both state and federal levels.
Meanwhile, this development comes at a time when Nigerians are keenly observing the country’s political atmosphere, as governance, party loyalty, and economic challenges continue to dominate national discourse.
Akpabio concluded by assuring party members and Nigerians that the APC under President Tinubu remains committed to inclusive governance, promising that the expected new members from opposition parties will be welcomed with open arms.
